Hangover Helper: The Dee Snider From Grill 'Em All Burgers in Los Angeles

... that was incredible. I eschewed the Dee Snider and got the behemoth. The bun is made of two grilled cheese sandwiches. OMG.

Hangover Helper: The Dee Snider From Grill 'Em All Burgers in Los Angeles

Just showed this to metalhead bf. We're going today. YAY LUNCH!

We Try The New Starbucks Hazelnut Macchiato

^ A wee bit snarky, but I have to agree with the duck.

Pasadena, CA: Greatness Pops Up at Burger Haven

^ Probably a bit late here (and have no idea if you'll even see this), but I've tried Big Daddy's and it's edible. Burger patty seems like it probably arrived to the store frozen. Not at all impressed. A little overpriced for what you get. Too bad In N Out didn't buy the building and turn it into a parking lot.

Serious Entertaining: A Robyn Lee Dance Party

omg, I love that video! You made my day. I can't stop watching it and it's stuck in my head!

Taste Test: The Best Ricotta Cheese

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised that Precious didn't make the taste test. Maybe it's just a west coast thing?

Staff Picks: Our Last Burgers on Earth

Yes! Pie N Burger! So delicious :)

Chain Reaction: New Pies from McDonald's and Popeyes

That's disappointing. The peach pie sounded so tasty! I love peach pie and was giddy at the thought of being able to procure a reasonable facsimile inexpensively from a drive thru. Alas, my dreams are dashed. Or maybe I'll just spend the dollar and give it a try myself ;)

Taste Test: Every Flavor of Chobani Greek Yogurt

Voskos full fat honey flavored. Absolutely the best greek yogurt I've had. It's so hard to find greek yogurt in full-fat varieties.

21 Tacos We Really Love in Los Angeles

You left out the entire SGV! While known for the many varieties of Asian food, there are also a gazillion taco shops! I go there at least once a week and their al pastor is incredible! (It's even better in one of their massive quesadillas)

What's Your Hangover Cure?

It used to be red gatorade and a double double.

Then as I got older I realized that I really, really hate getting hungover. So I just quit drinking.... and switched to medical marijuana.

Hangover problem solved!

Super Bowl Giveaway: 10-Pound Box of Pat LaFrieda Sliders

Gonna have some neighbors over and watch the game while hopefully eating some AWESOME SLIDERS! (Seriously, this would be awesome. We haven't picked up any food yet)

This is something you don't want on a pizza

Soda: Texas Loses Dublin Dr Pepper

I have no childhood associations with glass bottles.

I have no special affinity for Texas.

What I do have is a love of Dr. Pepper and I've never had it with cane sugar! I'm excited that this will be rolled out at a nationwide level so that all can enjoy it.

Pad See-Ew

OMG. this is my favorite thai noodle dish!!!

As soon as I can hit up the Asian market I'm making this! Thank you!

Grocery Girl: Identifying Yourself as a Food Person

Really? So much judgement over a skillet meal? Perhaps it's not that your cousin doesn't appreciate good food so much as she doesn't know how to cook or doesn't have the time or energy to deal with making a meal from scratch. Skillet meals take 10 minutes. 10 minutes from freezer to plate.

Perhaps rather than sitting there judging her wouldn't it have been more helpful to suggest some alternate meal ideas? "I haven't tried a skillet meal. Have you tried this dish? It only takes about 10 minutes and it's super tasty..."

Foodie and food person mean the same thing. Self-righteous and judgmental. A true lover of food wouldn't pass judgment on something without trying it.

New Drinks: McDonald's McCafé Peppermint Mocha and Peppermint Hot Chocolate

I'll stick with a packet of hot cocoa mix and a shot of peppermint schnapps. YUM.

20 Best Foods at the State Fair of Louisiana

@mkelley I was just thinking the same thing. Those are real tacos. Taquitos are rolled and deep fried with a meat filling.

Weekend Cook and Tell: Bucket of Fried Chicken

Yeah... fake meat does not taste like meat. It's nice that it works for you, but by telling a meat eater that it "tastes just like the real thing" is setting yourself up for disaster.

It's like saying. "OMG! I just saw the greatest movie ever!" or "I had the most magnificent burrito in the world" and expecting a friend to feel the same way, but in reality you completely overhyped it and there's no way that it can ever live up to your description.

On the other hand, you're pushing your personal food choices on others by utilizing guilt (karma free? seriously?) and that's pretty shitty. So maybe I shouldn't critique your methods.

Drinking the Bottom Shelf: DeKuyper Fruit-Flavored Things

I've never even HEARD of pumpkin beer.

I think I may take a field trip to BevMo tomorrow. Mmmm.... booze.

The Food Lab, Drinks Edition: Is Mexican Coke Better?

I prefer the mouthfeel of Pepsi to Coke. Coke seems as though it has more carbonation and feels more... tangy? I'm having trouble coming up with the right word. Pepsi feels as though it's not as carbonated when coming from a can or a bottle. Fountain drinks are a different story though as they all have the same level of carbonation. Fountain Coke is my favorite.

How Hard Would It Be To Add A Simple LIKE Button In Talk Threads

Check out the way comments are rated on I like how not only can you +1 a comment, but you can also -1 a comment. the +1's get moved up to the top in a special "top comments" section and those are the ones usually most relevant to the conversation. This enables you to skip to the best ideas rather than slog through 60 comments to find one good one.

Los Angeles: Head to Vertical Wine Bistro on Thursdays for Burger Night

Pasadena has a few good burger places. I checked out King's Row with a groupon for their burgers and it was amazing. I've always walked past Vertical and wanted to go in, but every time I decided to step through the doors I immediately turned around. The music is horrible dance club music and way too loud. I still haven't ever managed to make it in and try anything.

Most Underused (top 10) Ingredients?

I like caraway, but the only use I have for it is in my mom's recipe for pork and cabbage stew.

Cinnamon, I feel like I should use it more for savory foods

It's so hot! Need Lazy food ideas

@pooroldmama That sounds awesome! I'm definitely going to have to do that this weekend. :)

It's so hot! Need Lazy food ideas

It's super hot, I'm melting. I'm hoping to find some recipes or ideas to sustain me through the rest of the summer.

The biggest problem I have is that I have zero interest in anything that requires effort. Salads require far too much chopping.

What can I eat so I'll stay alive (and vaguely healthy) without expending any energy? So far I'm living off of tortilla chips, yogurt, popsicles, and mini babybel cheeses.

Need baked gift for bf's parents for Christmas Eve. Help!

I need to get my boyfriend's parents something for Christmas since we're going over there for dinner on Christmas Eve.

He suggested I bake something. But then followed that up with rules like, no fudge, and no chocolate cookies. Apparently making either of those things would be akin to "giving a painting/sculpture to Michelangelo" because those are his Mothers' specialties.

I can't use nuts because his mother doesn't like them, and to top it all off, I'm going to be baking in his kitchen. There is no mixer, one cookie sheet and a couple of Pyrex baking dishes.

This has to be ready by Friday night at 6pm, and I have no time to work on it at all tomorrow or today. So nothing that involves freezing overnight.

If anyone has any suggestions, despite all these guidelines, please, please, PLEASE tell me!

And they also don't drink. So there goes the easy gift of a nice bottle of wine.

Mint Overflow! Cocktails? :D

My mint plant is overflowing and it's getting to be about time to prune it back again. A big batch of mint simple syrup will help use that up, but there will still be quite a bit remaining.

I'm getting a bit tired of Mojito's and Mint Julep's, anyone know of any yummy minty alternatives? :)
