It's super hot, I'm melting. I'm hoping to find some recipes or ideas to sustain me through the rest of the summer.
The biggest problem I have is that I have zero interest in anything that requires effort. Salads require far too much chopping.
What can I eat so I'll stay alive (and vaguely healthy) without expending any energy? So far I'm living off of tortilla chips, yogurt, popsicles, and mini babybel cheeses.
I need to get my boyfriend's parents something for Christmas since we're going over there for dinner on Christmas Eve.
He suggested I bake something. But then followed that up with rules like, no fudge, and no chocolate cookies. Apparently making either of those things would be akin to "giving a painting/sculpture to Michelangelo" because those are his Mothers' specialties.
I can't use nuts because his mother doesn't like them, and to top it all off, I'm going to be baking in his kitchen. There is no mixer, one cookie sheet and a couple of Pyrex baking dishes.
This has to be ready by Friday night at 6pm, and I have no time to work on it at all tomorrow or today. So nothing that involves freezing overnight.
If anyone has any suggestions, despite all these guidelines, please, please, PLEASE tell me!
And they also don't drink. So there goes the easy gift of a nice bottle of wine.
My mint plant is overflowing and it's getting to be about time to prune it back again. A big batch of mint simple syrup will help use that up, but there will still be quite a bit remaining.
I'm getting a bit tired of Mojito's and Mint Julep's, anyone know of any yummy minty alternatives? :)

... that was incredible. I eschewed the Dee Snider and got the behemoth. The bun is made of two grilled cheese sandwiches. OMG.
