Memphis, TN-- Where to eat?

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions! I wish we'd have had more time there so that we could have tried all of them. We did make it to Central BBQ, Brother Juniper's, and Hog and Hominy, and we really enjoyed all of them. Since I love barbecue so much, I especially loved Central. Hog and Hominy was great too... Lots of awesome cocktails, and we were able to try a fair bit of the menu between the five of us. Also, I have to say, I thought the pizza was pretty awesome there... It reminded me of some places I like here in Chicago. Anyway, thanks again-- you guys have some great food in Memphis. Also, if anyone ever needs advice on eating in Chicago, feel free to contact me!

Some of the best seafood I've ever eaten in my life was in Dingle. Brings back memories :)

What Tomato varieties are you growing?

I'm keeping things pretty simple this year. I start from seed every year, and so far I've got:

Pink Brandywine
Mortgage Lifter
Black Cherry
Big Rainbow
White Tomesol
Cherokee Purple
Paul Robeson

I may, however, end up buying a couple of plants so that I have some tomatoes that are better suited for sauce. I'm located on the South Side of Chicago, by the way, where we're just starting to get decent enough weather that I can begin hardening my plants off!

Memphis, TN-- Where to eat?

Hello all!
Next weekend, I'm heading to Memphis for the first time in order to go to the Neutral Milk Hotel show. The plan is to arrive Thursday night and leave Sunday morning or afternoon, so we won't be there too long. Since it really is such a short trip, does anyone have any recommendations for places to eat that we should try not to miss?

In case any of this information helps, we are a group of 5 adults with no dietary restrictions. We will also have a car, so we're pretty mobile.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Where to eat in Brooklyn?

Hello all-
Next weekend I'll be heading to NY from the 12th through the 16th. I'll probably spend the first evening in Manhattan, but the next day I intend to go to Brooklyn to stay with a friend for the remainder of my time there. Not sure if it matters, but I believe the neighborhood is Mapleton.

Anyway, the person I'm staying with is probably not too familiar with the area, as he's only been in the States for about two months now. Therefore, I figured I'd ask here-- does anyone have any suggestions about where to eat in that general area? We are, of course open to traveling, especially if there's other worthwhile things in the area. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance!
