In-N-Out vs. Five Guys vs. Shake Shack: The First Bi-Coastal Side-By-Side Taste Test

So where does the asterisk in the first paragraph refer to? I've read the story carefully twice, and can't find the footnote.

Serious Chocolate: Meltaways, and the Science Behind Eutectics

Am I the only one who can't figure out how to get to the recipe that's teased in the last paragraph? Was the bold text supposed to be a link?

...oh, nevermind. I found it, on the recipe card between the pictures. Apparently, I need some coffee this afternoon!

But are the mini chocolate pies tasty? You comment on the flavor of everything else, but the explanation of the pies seems to have baffled you enough that there isn't any flavor description on those!
(unless "The best, though," refers to flavor, which isn't clear, since you've commented on so many elements of what makes Japanese snacks awesome, and these could be "the best" in any number of mentioned categories)

Baristas Have the Best Job in the World

Yes, but most baristas must get up well before dawn cracks, many of the people they deal with are cranky if not downright rude, and the pay is absolute crap, especially if you can't get the good shifts to draw decent tips.
Otherwise, I completely agree.

I Prefer to Call It 'Fat-Challenged'

Loco -- if it's a latte, it has foam. If it doesn't have foam, it's not a latte. But you're right, using non-Starbucks terminology in Starbucks can be hilarious! :D

When I worked as a barista, skinny only referred to the milk. If you ordered a "vanilla mocha, skinny", you'd get a mocha made with sugared vanilla syrup and nonfat milk, and then I'd usually ask about the whip.

I usually order my drinks skinny, and now I'm totally freaked out that they've been giving me sugar-free syrups (artificial sugars contribute to migraines for me), so I'm really glad I read this -- I'll have to make sure I emphasize NOT SUGAR-FREE from now on.

In my mind, skinny isn't diet, it's just an alternative for the milk used in the drink -- a latte made with nonfat milk tastes a lot different from one made with whole milk, and either is a valid choice. And choice (getting your drink made exactly the way you want it) is exactly what Starbucks and the other latte bars are all about, other than caffeine.

OK, I live in Twin Falls, and I've never seen this commercial. Not that it's that far in quality from some I *have* seen, but I haven't seen this one.
