What's for Dinner Tonight?

i am making a shrimp and scallop lasagna. following a traditional recipe but adding sauteed mushrooms and sauteed fresh spinach. making this for friends but just now found that their flite was cancelled and instead of coming in at 7pm it will be more like 9:30pm. don't know if they will have eaten by then, but my dh and i will have a good dinner anyway

Rose Levy Beranbaum's Cradle Cake

i thought i recognized this cake. my mother used to make it for us when we were younger. it came from the pillsbury bakeoff in 1953. then it was called a "cradle cake" and the original recipe was made in a 9 or 10 inch tube pan. this recipe is the same but made for a smaller quantity. just a remake of an old popular pillsbury winner.

What brand of salt for salt pig?

i am a potter and make salt pigs. my customers and myself, we use either the gourmet salts such as fleur de sel or more cheaply "kosher salt". both of these salts are of a coarse grind and that makes it easy to grab a pinch.
hope this helps
