The Vegan Experience Day 28: Final Thoughts As a Part-Time Vegan

It has been very informative and entertaining to read your progression during this process. I decided to go pescatarian at the beginning of the year and would love to see you continue the vegan recipes and add more fish ones as well. So far your vegan recipes have been wonderful.

I also am shocked it took your Dad till the fifth course. I thought he would figure it out by the third.

I think the Mexican food here sucks as well. I don't want NYC unique Mexican, I want Mexican. There is no reason that people here can't get it right. Sorry but there is a lot more to it then tacos. Enough with the tacos already.

Outgrown Foodnetwork ????

Stopped watching Food Network years ago when they stopped having chefs and started having Rachel Ray, Paula Deen etc.... I want to watch someone that has be to culinary school not someone that is proud to have no education in food. So I watch PBS and Cooking channel now has some good shows. Love the galloping gourmet - I might not cook his food but at least he is having fun. If Food Network would bring back people with the knowledge of Julia Childs & Jacque Pepin then I might start watching. Otherwise I don't need a chili cookoff, cupcake etc...
Food Network seems to be five year behind food trends.

The press I have from Williams Sonoma has been going for a couple years, it is plastic. My grandmother had a metal one that turned.
I do not clean and cool my spritz between batches and they come out fine. I always wouldn't let mine get as dark as the ones in the pic or they dry out.

I used to bring something to read or use my phone as I feared being bored but now am comfortable that I don't need props . I don't concern myself with what strangers think of me; they'd have to be pretty boring people to worry themselves about a solo dinner.

Cereal Eats: Are Mini Box Variety Packs a Blessing or a Curse?

We were allowed surgary cereal but nothing with marshmellows - odd. But oh baby those mini vacation packs. Those were the best. For some reason eating cereal out of those boxes made it taste extra delicious.

Also, our punishment for missing dinner was being forced to eat cereal. My sister and I would just happen to forget to come home on time when it was liver & onion night. Oh boo guess we will be forced to eat Frosted Flakes. What was my Mom thinking?

In Houston my Mom gets Taylor Ham at Kroger's in the deli. You can also find it in boxes near the luncheon meat.

I can attest to the Dahlia's sandwich in Seattle. I ate one everyone weekend while I worked out there. It is what egg sandwiches want to be when they grow up.
