My dad's family is from New England so I've always had a soft spot for Neccos. My husband and I have a theory, though, that all of the Necco wafers were made before 1930 and are just routinely shipped from some warehouse.

Cook the Book: Pumpkin Baking

Pumpkin CHIFFON pie . . . it's whipped and airy-er than the regular pumpkin fare. This is often called "hockey-puck pie" at our Thanksgiving, however, due to a little refrigeration mishap many years ago that left the pie not so airy and light ;)

Served: My Plea To Tip Kindly

I am a good tipper, WHEN my server is good. I believe that just like a bonus at other jobs, extra tip is all about how you work. For satisfactory service I'll give 15%. But, if the waiter is rude or ignores the table, I don't mind tipping less that that. I'm a reasonable person . . . if they can't figure out what they did wrong, then they'll probably just do it to someone else.
