Royal Tangra Masala in Queens
Dinner Tonight: Okra Curry
i'm going to sound like my mother here, but part of the issue i have with okra is the variety (i'm not going to use the word "quality") of okra we have here. i never liked it growing up here (indian style or not), but enjoyed it much more abroad. I've found that, at least in india, italy, and france, the okra is less sticky/mushy when cooked, and has a deeper flavor that isn't too strong.
Standing Room Only: La Pasadita
one of our favorites at any time of day! used to go there a lot when we lived up the street.

Dinner Tonight: Palak Aalu, Palak Paneer's Cousin
looks great! my mother once used tofu as a paneer substitute in a palak paneer-esque dish (this is not native to my family's part of india.) it worked out surprisingly well, though i'm not as big of a paneer snob.

sr. mansi seems to be contradicting himself in his quote. plus, i know some milanesi (locals of milan) who say some of the best pizza in their fair town is found in chinese immigrant owned pizzerias.

after spending two years in torino, i prefer arrabiata, but a good ligurian pesto is a close second.
