Sugar Rush: Tres Leches Cake at La Lucha

Eat your tacos, settle your bill, and then go south 3 blocks to Carteles (443 E 6th St btw 1st & A). They recently added desserts to their tiny (but awesome) menu and the Tres Leches Cake is uhhhmazing.

First date spots...

@simon: "Now, what about fun, casual dive bar types of places?"

I love going to Marshall Stack on Allen & Rivington for first dates because it's a warm and approachable neighborhood bar that plays great music at a reasonable decibel so you can actually hear what your date is saying. The limited bar menu is always super tasty (love the duck club and tater tots) and a good reason to linger in case the date is going better than expected. I also like to think that the place leans towards the fun and mischievous side of romantic, but that might just be one too many arrogant bastards talking...

Hell's Kitchen on 9th Ave & 47th serves Mexican fusion and is also super romantic and trendy and fun for a dinner date.
