Soup Problems
I love soup but I really want a way to jazz up butternut squash soup. Like what can I add to get it some body? Ground beef? Other veggies? Any suggestions?!? Help!!
Mistakes? What mistakes? Ask my dad and he will tell you it was always planned that way. From the home made pizza that fell through the oven racks (way to cut back on carbs w/o trying), to burning digiorno (charred is the new foodie trend) this man is a pizza chef. He can do almost anything else but it seems that pizza is an unfortunate downfall. Hopefully a pizzapro would give him some legitimate backing...
Billy Doogan told me you wrote for this site! I didnt realize this was your article. This and the game of thrones drinking game makes me smile. Well done sir...well done
What cocktail shouldn't be made a dessert? But if I must choose lets go with a mint julep. It sounds like a dessert anyway and lends itself well to the category (simple syrup, mint, bourbon). I believe it would be a perfect southern style hit!
I was such an annoying picky kid-would not do mac'n'cheese. Wouldn't do pizza. No-I could only do the delicacies in culinary cuisine: pretzels dipped in ranch dressing and even more decadent, opening a can of baked beans into a bowl, adding mustard and just eating the entire thing with a side of toast.
As I write this it still seems legitimate...?
wait wait wait...am I the only one that occasionally seriously CRAVES sherbet? As a law student, I could honestly appreciate this lesser substitute, yet easier to snack on.
p.s.-anyone ever tried the strawberry milkshake oreo? Also equally enjoyed this less then par amazing-ness
I am sorry to sound like an 80 year old but...I am with bagelgirl: what about cracklin' oat bran? So underrated yet sooo amazing. Guarantee majority haven't tried it-do yourselves a favor and go get a box today. you will never regret it!
My favorite winter time soup is chicken and dumplings. My grandmother made the BEST recipe and passed it down to my dad who just passed it down to my brother after getting married. I can reveal what all is involved but the dumplings are similar to alton brown's so its obviously good....
Here's an easy recipe http://www.enmicocinahoy.cl/2012/12/menu-ano-nuevo-paquetitos-de-brie-y.html
This is a very presumptuous giveaway by assuming Siracha doesn't pair well with everything. (Which it very well could given the circumstances) However I suppose if I have to narrow it down, my favorite dish with Siracha has to be simple, the hard boiled egg. Easiest breakfast to make, salt, pepper, and then let the Siracha sing as the complement condiment. Pizza yes, Asian good yes, but hard boiled egg-simple, practicable, and really get to taste it.
Is there a non-Siracha friendly food? Though If I have to chose the best for me is paired with tofu, noodles, peanuts, soy, and steamed veggies. Sooo good! Siracha makes it!
I stuck a thermometer, and I am not kidding, into a faux turkey. I was putting on Thanksgiving for several Indian people and the faux turkey called for a certain temperature; not wanting to mess up I had to make sure it was the the right temperature. However I felt a little embarrassed, and I think others would laugh that I stuck a thermometer into soy. eh-what can ya do?
Pumpkin shaped Reese's. Yes, they do taste different then normal reese's cups! The ratio of peanut butter to chocolate is just different, and in an absolutely phenomenal way. I love these babies!! (The Easter egg shape is a close 2nd)
The Station is always good. Top of the hill and spankys are also great choices-especially on a game day! god i miss chapel hill! really the best way to go is tailgating :-)
ask and you shall receive....

Honey or fresh strawberry preserves. Love mine with something sweet.
nothing beats corn on the cob, in the husk, grilled along side onions, peppers, and then amazing bison burgers. the ultimate grilling amazing-ness
Been working in the hospitality industry since I was 18 and think it will contribute to my future success as a lawyer. Next year when I finally graduate and take the bar I feel as though my dealings with impatient customers, chefs who take their time or drop things and then put them on the plate anyway, or the inevitable 10% tip on a $100 bill will make any client I take look like an angel. Here's to stresses of tax law being mitigated by TGIFridays!
nothing beats a mango!!
falafel!! stuffed in pita with tahini sauce-cant beat it. and they make decent ones from the street carts in philly!
My favorite is Vietnamese stuffed tofu. They are like 2 blocks cut in half and then hollowed out into little bowls and stuffed with mushrooms, rice, and tomatoes. But the seasoning is so delicious and amazing. I crave them soo much!
amazing reduced guilt kale and yogurt dip; and then there is the cookie butter...the amazing amazing cookie butter. I have had numerous people ask me to send it to them in the mail....its that good.
I did a VEGAN shepherd's pie last year and not a single person could tell and thought it was the "real thing" until I told them after it was all gone. Let me know if you want the recipe!
avocado mashed up with some vegan mayonnaise an spread over a nice tofurky sandwich. a-mazing!
