You come up with crap like this because you have a serious need for attention or smoke a lot of weed. When she dies of a heart attack - I will not be surprised. The sad thing is she is going to take all her family members with her.
Deep-Fried Peeps
I have so enjoyed Peeps Week 2009. While I think I will skip this one - I can't wait to see what you come up with next year!
Happy Easter all!!!

not impressed. the cookbook isn't anything to write home about and this is just a waste of time to read.

The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
I am not sure. There are moments that are funny and watchable and then it falls flat for me. The jury is still out whether this is one show I will become addicted too.

Who Should Be on Reality TV: White, Steingarten, or Ramsay?
Gordon Ramsy - the UK version. I can't stand to see Steingarten on TV - love his writing however. The man who ate everything is one of my favorite books.

absolutly pointless and stupid
Cook the Book: 'Food Matters: A Guide to Conscious Eating'
He is a great voice for vegan/vegetarian diet. Minimal animal - however you include in your diet - is all that is needed in the your diet (if you want to go there). He is helping to shape this movement into mainstream that excess consumption of animals is not how we are intended to feed ourselves. His healthy approach, simple and uncomplicated message is re-freshing.
Cook the Book: 'Kneadlessly Simple'
Zucchini or Banana bread. I would love to how to make more artizan breads
Chick-fil-A
I have a hard time breaking out of a weekly Saturday routine of going for their Sausage BREAKFAST BURRITOS! They really rock. Good potato rounds to go with. ..They are also very sweet to my dog and give her doggie biscuits each visit.
The McNuggetini
I think that just has to be for attention?
Cook the Book: The Essence of Chocolate
it was an individual chocolate bundt cake with thick berry syrup drizzled on top.
Oatmeal: Way or No Way?
Way! Oatmeal pancakes - a new favorite. Oatmeal raison cookies - yum. Everyday - oatmeal for breakfast with brown sugar and yellow raison or with bing cherries. In a hurry ? Trader Joes' has a great frozen steel-cut oatmeal to take along with. Love oatmeal as a topping on summer fruit crisps....homemade granola bars with dried diced apricots, craisons, raison, almonds, honey.
Cook the Book: 'The Great Wings Book'
If not wings - a must have is JD's Crab & Artichoke Dip or Millers' Shirmp Dip with Ruffles!
Cook the Book: 'The Great Wings Book'
any kind of "chips & dip" - 7 layer mexican dip, Utz and Sour Cream Ranch Dip, JM's famous Shimp Dip with Tortilla Chips, Hot Crab & Artichoke....endless list!
Cook the Book: 'The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook'
I like it all! Bring on the humus, olives, feta and anything made with eggplant, artichoke and lamb!

???.... I agree with you Chiff... I just didn't have the energy to cut n paste my other response... Very fitting... I wouldn't watch that show on a dare.
The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
It was part of a conversation, arm1970 but thanks for the compliment - and friend me if you haven't. I have a very hard time keeping track of screen names/real names.
Come on, Pav - I thought the comment was fitting and pertinent here. At least I disclosed it was a repost! :D

Step one: find my response to the paula dean has a talk show thread.
Step two: read it!
Step three: insert here.
Step four: repeat as necessary.

The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
I posted this to FB and it was such a good rant, I'd like to share it here as well:
I saw a commercial for this dreck and won't give it a moment of my time. The "woman" supposedly running the kitchen looks like a drag queen/part time WWE wrestler in the WORST pancake makeup I've ever seen. I'm embarrassed for the show and its creators because they did such a great job with Ace of Cakes. Second time in the batter's box and just by the commercial, I can tell this is a horrendous flop.
If that f*ing monster ever barked commands at me, the 7,182,344 comebacks would crash together in my head causing spontaneous combustion.
Drama + food = garbage as proven with The Restaurant and HK. Over inflated shit is NOT "reality."
We don't need more food-themed garbage on TV. TVFN has a large keg of it to tap at nearly any time of day.
The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
Oxygen... that's one the channels i've programmed off my cable lineup... must be why I never even heard of it... is it just me, or this channel completely lacking anything worthwhile?

I asked the same question about a week ago, here's what everyone said:

The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
I'm burning out on cookreality TV. Not in the least bit interested in this one.
The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
Indeedy do do, gutreaction, we have a plethora of culinary contests, which do not define "cooking show" to me. I missed this, but will try to catch it next week. Looks interesting. I miss the food channel of yore.
The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
It's not a cooking show per se, it is more about living the restaurant experience in front and back of the house. Frankly, we have enough culinary contest type shows, Top Chef being one of the better ones. I will have to see this show evolve though...
The Naughty Kitchen with chef Blythe Beck: anyone catch it?
Do you really consider this a cooking show? It seems like it's just Oxygens feeble attempt at jumping on the bandwagon. I'll stick to Top Chef, thanks.

French bread!!! YUM!

Man, there's some serious hatin' going on here. I personally think the idea of deep-fried mac and cheese is astoundingly awesome. I am all about the occasional over the top snacking. And yeah, her expression 14 seconds in says it all.
Deep-Fried Peeps
When I was about 17, I was looking for junk food all we had was chocolate chips and peeps. I would have done marshmellows, but we were out and it happened to be just after Easter. Add some butter to the pan before melting chocolate and coat the peeps completely or leave out the head.
I have also rolled them in rice crispies or grahm cracker crumbs after dipping them in chocolate (obviously have made them more than once), cool them on parchment paper or a glass plate. I have also cut them up into Hot chocolate, I know, I know, barbaric! LOL. I'm not a hater of Peeps, I just have to modify them to eat them (they are super sweet).
I think deep fried peeps would actually be pretty good, just one! Like a deep fried Twinkie. Something to try is a deep fried PB sandwich (or PB and strawberry jam). Cut sandwich in 1/4, (crust optional) dip in batter and deep fry. Yum. Yes, I have a Mad Science kitchen. I have not made those in many years though. Teens love them! Try to think "Out of the box", it doesn't hurt to play with your food! I cracked up when Robyn said "If you lose weght while eating these, there may be something wrong with you" LMAO. So true.
:) T.

Ewwwwww, they look like squaw. Eeep! Peeps!

Multi grain bread! This looks like a great cookbook!!!

has anyone noticed how much thinner Paula looks lately? Maybe she finally has to watch her fat intake! I for one won't be eating fried lasagna, deep fried mac&cheese, fried butter balls or any of her other heart stopping recipes but she is a fun lady to watch and an animal lover. I just hope she doesn't feed this food to her dogs, it might be considered animal cruelity.

Brad at Deadpan Inc. knows how to top it. Yum!

Definitely over the top but i've had John Fleer's fried mac and cheese and it was divine... not greasy...beautiful.

A drug store on every corner and you expect me not to eat what I like? Those drug dealers will save you, don't worry . Paula's recipes are pure pleasure and fun. Those who think we will die eating this food watch too many health shows. Saddness & worry cause disease, not food. Leave this great cook alone!! We learn to make our own junk food from Paula!!

First, why are ANY of you whiners even on this site? Go to some other place if you don't like this kind of food, rather than attacking Paula in such a ridiculous, juvenile manner. Seriously, you need to get over yourselves and get a life. You're all stupid if you think that Paula assumes that you're going to be dumb enough to eat this on a regular basis. Hey--any of you out there ever heard the word MODERATION? Or do you not get the concept? This is a fantastic dish to make once in a while as a TREAT--I'm certain Paula's not intending for this to be eaten as daily fare. If you HAVEN'T been smart enough to get that, then you need to get off of this site and go sign up on Jenny Craig's list, who's recipes I'm sure will be much more to your liking.
We don't watch Paula expecting her to serve up "rabbit food", i.e. salad, tofu, bean sprouts, etc.. She's not your Weight-Watcher buddy or "bulimia sponsor" that you call at 3 a.m. when you're having a weak moment & want to consume half of the contents of your refrigerator because you had a bad day. We watch her 'cause she's fun, lovable & has some GREAT recipe ideas that we KNOW are probably not going to thrill your cardiologist, but, seriously, unless you're planning to devote your entire life to making all of her creations a part of your daily menu, are just fine for an occasional treat. As for those of us who appreciate good recipes, Paula Deen is a WONDERFUL lady and NOT the anti-Christ. It's okay to eat this kind of stuff occasionaly. GROW UP.
P.S. Here's a dessert to go along with this for all you food-phobic bulimics/anorexics/whatever: bacon cinnamon rolls. Eat up!

Please tell me this was intended to be a very sick joke. It is very sick. Tell Paula that she should be using the new "lite lard". Southern accentes are accentuated better with a mouth full of hog lard and this lite lard extends vowels much better. Yall sounds mut better thaway. See what I mean?
In Videos: Paula Deen's Fried Mac and Cheese Bacon Bites
It seems as if Paula's current recipes are out for "shock value", not to mention a certain "gross" factor... To be fair, I have tried some of her recipes' when she first came out and some were good and some were "not so good" but lately, it seems as if she is going for pure "shock" value.
To tell you the truth, I feel kind of bad for her. She's already done the "I'm just a good old southern girl" routine and I feel like the network is trying to find another nitch for her and its just not working. Try something else people.

It's the Ugly American!
And to think you thought that stuff was over and done with....

@Prairie, you could walk into any room populated by at least one person anywhere in the world and make the same statement... And be right more often than not. What's your point?
