Cook the Book: 'Bromberg Bros. Blue Ribbon Cookbook'

When I was in college in York, PA we always went to the "Round the Clock Diner" which had really good food. And the "people watching" in the middle of the night was a sport!
Now adays our latenight go to place in Raleigh,NC is the Crabtree Tavern with their Low Country slow cooking and high end, but not so high priced bar food!

DVD Giveaway: Food, Inc.

I try to eat local, only shop for humanely raised, humanely slaughtered (although that sounds like an oxymoron!) meats, and we have a share in a local CSA. We like knowing where at least some of our food comes from!

Conch fritters in the Bahamas. I stayed at a resort where this lovely lady made fresh conch fritters every day. She would see me coming and smile because I was the most enthusiastic person. I would rave to her about how they were the best snack EVER each day.

I go to the Durham Farmer's Market in Durham,NC. My favorite vendor there is Brinkley Farms. They also happen to be the farmer I have a CSA share with! So not only do I get fresh veggies/hormone free-natural-humanely raised meats for my husband/eggs during the week when we get our share, but I get to pick up some other things from them YEAR ROUND on Saturdays! Awesome! www.brinleyfarms.com

My mother's pork loin every New Year's Day! It is a tradition in our home as well! Brings good luck for the year. I am totally into food traditions and this is the only one my family has with pork.
