Whole grain baking...
Whole grain baking sucks for celiacs!
I like to prepare it the same way as hereandthe (first comment) but I squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice over top. Yummm.
Anchovies for pizza, kalamata olives for any number of dishes, eggs coz I luv em. There are many more regulars because I'm obsessed with have things in the fridge so I can whip something up quickly if I have to but these three are muy importante.
Hellman's then Japanese mayonaise. A friend bought me a Costco size jug of mayonnais for my birthday once as a joke. But I ate the whole thing! I'm inLOVE with mayonnaise!
I'm allergic to wheat, barley, oats, rye. I can eat small amounts of dairy if I'm completely wheat free otherwise it kills me too. I'm also a vegetarian. Try going to the pub with that combination!
PS I love to eat everything so this sucks.
I make these wicked homemade rumballs that have a 26er of rum in them and all kinds of other yummy things. They cost a fortune to make and are time consuming. THAT surprises people. They wonder why I don't just buy them!
Zero bars are my favourite! ILOVE THEM!
St. Andres Triple Creme and Gruyere. Both are to DIE for!
I like to use half whole wheat and half quinoa flour which lightens it up and adds a complete protein. Great for banana muffins.
I make banana bread and I also replace the regular sugar with turbinado.
I feel much better about serving it because it tasty and has lots of fiber.
my housemates and I used to make three bowls for a taste-off: butter & sea salt, butter and nutritional yeast, olive oil, garlic salt and parm. we're all winners in that battle.
Eggs; plain, whole milk yogurt; a block of parmesan.
Swiss chards is one of my favorite side dishes, I wash it thoroughly, & chop it. In a big non stick pan take two table spoon of olive oil, as the oil gets hot, put one table spoon of black mustard seeds, wait for them to crack. Add two cloves of chopped garlic & add the chards. Add salt & red pepper flakes to taste, cover the lid. Wait for 5 to 7 minutes. It should be ready.
Other than the basic condiments I always have some sort of caffeine diet pop, pea pods, eggs
This is my favorite recipe. it is probably more of a winter dish though, but very good. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/233385
Chard works well in many Mexican dishes, like a tortilla casserole. This is not terribly easy, but no harder than lasagne (and it freezes well).
Chard also goes nicely in pastries, frittatas, soups.
One of the most amazing dishes I've ever had is the tarte de blette, which we had at a tiny joint in Nice. It can be done in sweet or savory versions, apparently; this one was for dessert. Swiss chard custard, basically, very tasty.
