Chain Reaction: The Habit Burger Grill

One really great thing about their shakes - they also offer malts. And the malts (at least the chocolate malt I had) definitely qualify as quite 'malty' - which I thought was wonderful.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Charles Chocolates' Edible Chocolate Holiday Box

Ice cream - specifically, the Umpqua dairy ice cream with white and dark chocolate chunks in white and (milk) chocolate ice creams.

Hard to say - chocolate is so very good. Maybe some variation of chocolate ice cream.

Cook the Book: 'Baked Explorations'

the Hideaway Bakery in Eugene, OR is quite good. I especially like their croissants (plain, or filled), and the sweet-potato doughnut holes they carry at some times of the year. Of course, you have to remember to get there fairly early in the day (at least on weekends) if you want either of those, because they pretty much always sell out.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Truffle Lovers Pasta

In theory, yes. I had some delicious polenta with sauteed mushrooms and truffle, though none of us could tell that there was actually truffle, from either appearance or taste. The polenta and mushrooms were really very, very good, however.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Russ & Daughters Brunch Package

I don't really know just what qualifies as 'brunch food' though for me it mostly means breakfast foods that you wouldn't otherwise take the time to prepare. One of my favorites is a good french toast (served with vanilla black tea).

Cook the Book: 'Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies'

Christmas bites are my favorite holiday cookie. They involve graham crackers, coconut, dates, pecans, condensed milk and candied fruit. That last ingredient has made a number of friends very skeptical about the deliciousness of these cookies, until they try them.

Where Do You Get Your Favorite Pizza?

Pizza Mondo in Bend, Oregon has some really great pizza.

Mother's Day Giveaway: Peanut Butter & Co. Chocolate Bonbons

Hamburger stroganoff. I've learned to make it, but it's always just a touch better when Mom's cooking.

Cook the Book: 'Ready for Dessert'

Tough question. Some type of cookie for sure. Maybe my somewhat adapted version of a cooks illustrated recipe, for oatmeal cookies with chocolate and pecans. Super yummy, particularly as frozen dough balls.

Cook the Book: The Grand Central Baking Book

Hideaway Bakery in Eugene. It's teeny-tiny, but has really incredible croissants, and cinnamon raisin bread.

I'm not really sure what all falls under the category of "New York brunch food," but I am quite fond of bagels (as, it would appear, are many others).

Cook the Book: 'The King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion'

Not sure what the first cookies were, but like most others, I wouldn't be surprised if they were some variation of chocolate chip cookies. That, or christmas bites, though I don't know that I would have wanted to help with those much - very goopy and messy hands result.

Cook the Book: 'The Art and Soul of Baking'

christmas bites - graham cracker crumbs, butter, flaked coconut, pecans, chopped candied cherries and pineapple and sweetened condensed milk. Messy to make, but super yummy. And they freeze well

From Serious Eats

Cook the Book: 'Kneadlessly Simple'

A 'mixed' sandwich bread, mostly because of the memories of baking it with dad. It uses mostly white flour, but also as much wheat flour and/or cornmeal as you feel like adding that day. Always good, but always a bit different.

Cook the Book: The Essence of Chocolate

Brownies made from ghiardelli boxed mix. Not necessarily the best chocolate I've ever encountered, but I don't ever forget the way it tastes (even though I very rarely actually make them)
