Her home made spaghetti on my birthday. She slow cooks the sauce all day long to really make it the best ever. The thing that makes it the best? She does this for my birthday, in the middle of July, in her non air conditioned house. So by the time dinner is ready, everyone is eyeing the pool outside!
I make a soy/sherry sauce chicken dish - it's SO easy and people always ask for the recipe!
Rachael Ray or Ellen - both would have me laughing all through dinner! Sushi of course - my favorite!
If I could - I would grow bell peppers, we go through them so quickly. But the deer around here would eat them all and if they didn't get to them, the rabbits, raccoons and other "critters" would!
Creme Brulee - I LOOOOVE that stuff!
I cut up peppers, onions and ham ahead of time so during the week I can make a quick omelette before work.
Japan - to have authentic sushi!
Italy - I've always been a huge fan of Italian food, I'd love to try it from it's "home country"
I had a chicken fijita panini the other day - it was awesome!
My dad is a chef and taught me a lot of what I know. My boyfriend is brillant in the kitchen as well and has helped me become better. Between those two and just trying different recipes - I've become a pretty good cook if I do say so.
I've always been a fan of marbled - best of both worlds!
Mom was a great cook, but my favorite was her meatloaf and try as I will I just can't duplicate it. She was special.
In additon to turkey with magnificent family-secrets dressing, Mom made a crown roast one Thanksgiving!

My mom makes the best roast turkey and dressing around!
She makes a really good vegetable type pizza made with cream cheese.
She made a fish dish that took about an hour and a half to prepare, and was soooooo good (but I swear, the fat grams were so high, I would only be able to eat it once or twice a year). :-)
I remember her making a really delicious rhubard pie!
