Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'
My first cookbook was the Better Homes and Gardens paperback cookbook. It is over 20 years old, yellowed and falling apart. I don't cook out of it anymore but for some reason can't seem to part with it.

Kifta kabob, or is it kefta kebab. The dish that is spelling many ways. Either as a sandwich or with fattoush.
"Don't eat dairy when you have a cold"--old wives tale or not?
When I had pneumonia, my doctor said to lay off the dairy since it could possibly worsen it.
What would you make if you had ____ in your fridge?
Some kind of citrus cream cheese bar or cheesecake would be good. Or mousse. If you have a chicken, you could also use the citrus and oregano as a rub.
My resolution is to . . .
1. Try all of Rancho Gordo's beans
2. Eat chocolate daily
3. Try a new wine once a week
4. Attempt to fit in some form of exercise in between the chocolate and wine.

Cook the Book: 'The Modern Baker'
My biggest baking disaster was when I attempted to bake brownies for the first time ever at the age of 10 solo. I misread the recipe and put in 1/2 cup of salt instead of 1/2 teaspoon. The dog wouldn't even eat the brownies. She sniffed them, turned her nose up, and walked away. For whatever reason, this first time mishap didn't dampen my enthusiasm and to this day I am now known for my excellent baking.
