Cook the Book: 'Endangered Recipes' by Lari Robling

One of my fondest memories is the day I was introduced to artichokes. I had a summer job, worked until late. When I got home about 9:30pm everyone had eaten and the kitchen cleaned, but flowering on my plate was my first ever artichoke. Delish!

Cook the Book: 'Real Cajun'

Graham crackers all smushed up in a bowl, milk poured on top, and the whole softened mess spooned into gaping mouth. Ahhh, comfort food.

Cook the Book: 'Ten'

I dream about pesto slathered pasta and will grow mounds of basil just to satisfy my craving. I don't know if it's the garlic or the parmesan of the basil itself, but pesto...I'll eat it with a spoon.

You live where?

A nudist resort in deep, deep south Texas, full of winter Texans during the season, quiet during the heat of summer. 30 miles from the Mexico border...tons of Tex-Mex food joints...and Chinese curiously enough.

During a pot luck we might experience food from French Canadians to Germans to mid-west folks, Southerners...and every thing in between.

Have you discovered any new amazing foods lately?

The best, the VERY best fish I've ever had was served by my sister in Alaska in a fish taco. She's an amazing cook, but this fish...Black Cod cheeks! Hardly ever or maybe never, found in a store as the fishermen keep them for themselves. I dream about that fish......

What time do you eat dinner?

DH and I play scrabble almost every afternoon (yes, we are THAT old) so dinner is around 7-ish.

Ricotta Cheese...for breakfast, with cinnamon and sweetner. I'm doing low carb and this feels like eating cheesecake for breakfast.
