@PommeDG - thanks for the suggestion of Delancey's -- I've heard a lot about it.

Okay, I will have this now that I've bought the whole wheat pitas.

Slice Poll: Best Frozen Pizza?

In the Seattle area, we usually get Tombstone or Red Baron from the supermarket for those emergencies. I find them more satisfying than something higher priced like the Newman's. Regular crust rather than rising prefered by me as the latter is just too much bread. We got a regular frozen Safeway pepperoni recently and the crust was awful and the topping made me feel slighty sick. *feh*

Aklash -- you are getting wound up over nothing. Sure, kugels are part of Ashkenazi cuisine no matter what ethnicity devised them or the derivation of the name. Be cool, do good, avoid evil, throw a party!

Lemon is always a good addition -- perks up the flavors. I presume that "whisk" was meant rather than "wish"?

Very nice -- I'll have to try this!

Mobile Chowdown 3: Seattle vs. Portland Street Food

Sorry to miss this -- we were visiting in LA and having our own private gastro-thrills including great Mexican carnitas de Michoacan burrito (and on another visit to Kababs & More a lamb shank the size of my head) at the Grand Central Market downtown, Cole's french dips, Takami, etc.

Wow.

McDonald's Sweet Chili Sauce for Chicken McNuggets: How Does It Taste?

I have a nice bottle of the Thai sweet chili sauce from a local Asian market in north Seattle, H.T. Market in the Oaktree shopping center. We use it as side condiment with potstickers, egg rolls, etc. I am sure that the McD version is chock full of corn syrup. It is hilarious to think that this is their marketing idea of an "international" theme item.

Maybe they can bring back their McRib sammiches with this sauce?

What A $47,221 Lunch Looks Like

I took my sweetie out for a lovely Thai meal on Sunday, no wine or beer and I had a diet cola. I didn't order appetizers because I was trying to keep the bill reasonable and it still came out to about $28 with tax and tip.

We each ordered combinations that included our dish of choise, veggie pad thai and steam rice. I was pretty satisfied!

Zeeks Pizza: Seattle's Decent Mini-Chain Inspires Deep Pizza Thoughts

Definitely try Pagliacci's which is remarkedly consistant and tasty - a nice proportion of sauce to cheese to crust (that latter nicely chewy). I usually get the double pepperoni. I can also recommend an iteration of the local Romio's chain, Greek pizza with a very good chewy baked crust. I like the classic pepperoni and Italian sausage, as well as the eggplant and goat cheese, but a star fave at our house is the GASP: Garlic, Artichoke, Sun-dried tomatoes and Pesto.

I felt that Tutta Bella was a bit over praised. Although tasty, I never found their pies as satisfying as a good NYC slice.
