Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: La Quercia's Cured Meat Experience

Served on a platter with cheese, olives, and crusty bread, accompanied by a crisp, sweet wine.

Weekend Giveaway: 'The Kentucky Bourbon Cookbook'

Brownies... bourbon chocolate brownies. The caramel tones really add depth to any blah brownie recipe you have.

OK, I admit I teared up a bit. But the best part is I found a new interesting place to eat and drink in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. I love that neighborhood!

Three Floyd's Brewpub: Top Notch Beer, Good Enough Pizza

Drove from Philly to Munster for Dark Lord Day one year. Totally worth the day-long, dreary car ride.

Before you wait in line to buy one of the best imperial stouts ever made on earth, everyone gathers in front of the brewery to crack open their best beers. It is amazing. You meet people from all over the country and get to try stuff you've only heard of. Every beer geek must do a pilgrimage to Dark Lord Day at least once in a lifetime just for the experience.

Serious Beer: American Porters

I have Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter waiting for me at home, the last bottle from a most delicious six pack.

I concur that Flying Fish's Espresso Porter is a must-try. It's one of the brewery's most outstanding beers.

This Sunday, Taste Vintage Beer at The Pike Brewing Company in Seattle

Wow, what a treat. Typically, beers don't age well past a certain time -- they can taste like vinegar and rust. Barlywines have a longer shelf life, though, due to their high alcohol content, and often change character as they age. Vertical tastings are fun ways to see how the brew changes over time, and what little surprises in terms of flavor pops up.

Gadgets: Yogurt Maker by Waring Pro

I eat yogurt every day - love hte stuff - but it never occured to me to make my own. This machine looks like it would make it a breeze. How much counter space does it take up, though?

What Foods Are Banned from Your Office?

My boss adopted a bag-a-day microwave popcorn habit until someone finally spoke to her about the smell -- thank god! I absolutely love the smell of popcorn, but it was getting maddening. It got to the point that I'd have to take my break around her popcorn making.

People with offices close to the kitchen have griped about fish smells, but so far, fish hasn't been banned.

A Pint With: Garrett Oliver, Brewmaster at Brooklyn Brewery

Love Brooklyn's beers, and always make sure to keep their Chocolate Stout handy. I've been fortunate to meet him a couple times at beer events such as Belgium Comes to Cooperstown, and he is an awesome guy, always nice to the beer geeks. I keep meaning to head up to Brooklyn for the tour, but never seem to make it when they're open to the public (they have limited hours for tours on Saturdays, I believe).

Cook the Book: Cooking Under Pressure

My grandmother's rolling pin. Heavy and large enough to scare away burglars, this thing has been in the family for at least 50-60 years. My older sisters got the good china, the not-so-good china, the cooking pots, the silverware... as the baby of the family, I was only left this rolling pin. But I swear, I can still smell the Christmas cookies and the pot pie dough. It's become my own personal time machine.

The Top 10 Most-Googled Recipes of 2009

Not even close. The last recipe I searched for via Google was for something featuring lamb necks. What, nobody else enjoys lamb neck stew? ;)
