Fast Food Cheesesteak Challenge

So me and the wife flew back to Pennsylvania for a wedding of a friend of hers, and the schedule didn't allow for a proper stop at pats.. but everywhere we went we had to have a cheesesteak. and every time we did she would say no no that's not right.. and i ended up leaving Pennsylvania without ever having a real cheesesteak. We later ran across a chain "Taste of Philly" here in Colorado.. and she was so impressed.. not only were their cheesesteaks "authentic" but they actually imported Tasty Cake products and Birch Beer .. so

Long story short $ for plane flight and car rental in Pennsylvania =no cheesesteak
20 min drive from home = real cheesesteak.

Story of my life.

Weekend Giveaway: Vienna Beef Hot Dog Kit for Your Memorial Day Party

My fav topping .. the ones your giving away !!! I recently became a fan of Chicago dogs, a local place makes um just right.. and in Colorado no less.

I've tried making um at home and they are ok.. i really need to find a poppy seed bun tho.

When the directions for cooking with a pressure cooker say "an inch of water" do not assume that adding in additional liquid in the form of Italian dressing will assist you. Que the exploding liquid through the top of the pressure cooker and 20 minutes of cleanup.

Lesson learned: Some recipes you don't fiddle with.

McDonald's Mac Snack Wrap, A Rant

I've had one, it was a case of the "needs food badly" at Wal-Mart shopping.. stopped by the in-store McD's, saw it's picture as a new menu item and along with some nuggets for the kids, figured I've got it to try it.

Long and short.. its McD's .. you get what you expect.. I'm just surprised were talking about it here as if it were "Serious Eats"

To me it kinda falls under the tag of "Mc Donald's food sucks.. how is this news?" lol

i agree with Kitchenista you missed out on the "smash fries" with rosemary, garlic and sea salt and oil.. go back and check them out.. they may be a little rough the first go.. but they grow on you
