Pickle Sickle, Anyone?
I'm pregnant, but i think i might get sick just thinking about these.
(Do they come covered in chocolate?)

I'm glad my brother won't be looseing his job (he's retail)
But has anyone noticed that the sandwiches are back!?
Just to shake things up, if we're talking exotic as non-native, then bison and venison couldn't be exotic, as they are the animals that were native to the continent. Cows pigs and sheep were all imported by europeans. (sorry, I've been reading a book about american food)
@dizastress - They're working on a kool-aid type flavor too, I believe.
Of course, this is the SAME friend who actually tried that kool-aid pickle thing that was the hot topic some months ago, and willingly ate those too...so...
I HAVE TRIED THEM! My dear friend and downstairs neighbor recently had a baby, and during her pregnancy, her partner went online and ordered her a case of these (in what would appear to be a halfhearted attempt to play into the old 'you're pregnant so will likely want to eat weird things' idea). She raved about them and wouldn't quit pushing them on me until I tried one, and lo, with her face grinning at me in wild anticipation of my first crunchy, yellowish-green frozen bite, I was instantly horrified. Yeah, it's pickly. It's ice cold. It's salty, vinegary, hard as a rock, with absolutely no hint of sweetness. I really wanted to support her love of them, but I just couldn't. They ARE as gross as they seem. Kids would probably totally love them just for the shock value. However, I must say this -the company apparently kicks butt, because they later sent her a whole second case and a t-shirt for FREE, along with a nice thank-you letter for their first purchase. You certainly don't see that... well, ever!
I'd package them with a dixie cup and market to pregnant women.
They're still growing....they've only _slowed_ the growth. They're still going to open something like 1000 new stores next year.
I, too, like the coffee. Haven't developed a fondness for any pastries, though they have a turkey sandwich some days at the shop near my office that I like quite a bit.
I think the sandwiches will go eventually, but Starbucks is waiting for the contract to run out or something. I think.
The only Sbux units I've ever seen with sandwiches, fruit and a few other things in addition to their way too sweet pastries were in highway rest stops. I'm in Florida and the urban units I've frequented didn't have any of that.
I must be in the minority because I like Sbux coffee... I don't get fancy drinks, no seven pump mochas - usually bold brew or cappuccino which is just coffee with steamed milk. (I'm a freak for foam.)
For crying out loud, the growth had to stop sometime. They could have avoided tossing people out of their jobs if they had only stopped growing at the saturation point.
To clarify, my use of the word "exotic" was not to imply non-American meats. But simply those that do not show up as often on menus -- that is meat that is not beef or chicken (in general).
Anyway, you guys have given me a lot of great ideas and websites to look into. Already I have found a farm just a few miles from my house that raises heirloom breeds of poultry, and their eggs.
Still haven't found a restaurant that fits the bill -- but the Wofgang Puck lead is intriguing (there's on about 1/2 hour from me).
Thanks for everyone's input.
It was this comment that made me respond to bravian the way I did:
"[insert buzz word to describe cows raised with bunnies here]"
That is clearly a patronizing statement of contempt for the whole concept of humanely raised (and all the other "buzzword" qualifiers) meat. My bad for lumping it in with the "exotic" thing.
