Ask the Food Lab Anything, the Thanksgiving Edition

First off, thank you so much for handling all of these questions, also my family followed your recommendation of a dry salt brine last year and it was our most flavorful thanksgiving bird ever.

So I'm considering making a bread pudding as one of the desserts this year. My family, however, has a mandate of one dessert per adult. Therefore, the desserts need to hold up as leftovers for a few days and my mother is convinced the bread pudding will dry out after the initial go round of desserts. Any suggestions for a bread pudding that will still be tasty as breakfast on Friday and Saturday?

A Sandwich A Day: The Pork Rabe Saturday Special From Cutty's in Brookline, MA

Just grabbed a wheat berry and beet salad from Cutty's for lunch (trying to be healthy). I've never had a true Philly roast pork sandwich, but I've devoured a few of Cutty's and they are amazing.

Classic Sage and Sausage Stuffing (or Dressing)

Made this recipe today for a Fakesgiving potluck, couldn't be happier with the results. Perfect consistency, great flavor, and very easy recipe. I used the Jimmy Dean sage sausage mentioned above. As far as stuffing is concerned I like to keep it simple, but flavorful and this recipes delivers.

Comment of the Day: AHT-Loving Vegan

I must say it's kind of sad that after a vegan posts something in praise of AHT two of the first comments are on the negative side. Although my girlfriend and I are currently omnivores, she previously was a vegetarian for about 14 years. Every time this fact comes up two to three people have to jump in and ask her a litany of questions, always wondering why she would do such thing. Vegetarians and vegans often get pegged as self-righteous and judgmental, however, I find that it is normally the omnivores who are doing the judging.

Top 5: Kenji Lopez-Alt's Favorite Burgers in Boston

Well I went and tried the burger at Tory Row last night, and was greatly disappointed. Although the burger has great potential, good meat to bun/veggie ratio, solid pickles, crisp bacon, and decently seasoned meat, they cooked it well beyond the point of juiciness. I ordered it medium-rare and got a well-done burger. It might just be a one time occurrence, but I'll stick with M.o.S. if I want one of their burgers in the future.
