Elusive Meat Pie recipe

.... I knew I came to the right place. That is precisely it! A quick google search for "sio pao" found hundreds of images of the exact little pie I recall.

Thank you all SO MUCH!

Do you put toppings on corn on the cob?

Sprinkle your corn with cayenne and wrap it in bacon. Then tuck it into a foil packet and throw it into the coals on your grill. You will not regret this.

Elusive Meat Pie recipe

I hope y'all can help me out, here.

Back in high school, I had a friend whose had a mom from Mexico an a dad from the Phillipines. Every now and then, she'd get together with her parents and they'd make heaps and piles of these wonderful little meat pies. And then she'd bring some to school to share. And we would all worship her for a day.

The pies were these little hand-sized round things. Fluffy, yet dense, white bun completely sealed around a spicy, saucy meat filling. They may have been steamed. They were certainly delicious.

I've lost touch with this friend, so I can't ply her with wine and steal the recipe. I'm not even sure if it's Mexican or Phillipine in origin. Searches online have unearthed alot of recipes - some very odd - but none that look like the pies I'm remembering.

Help? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks!

Eggs eggs eggs!

Hey there!

I'm new here, so if this has been discussed before, please just pat me on my head and point me in the right direction.

I need egg recipe ideas.

Recently, I waaaaay overshopped for brunch, and found myself in possession of a couple dozen extra eggs. I've already used them in bread pudding, banana bread, and a vanilla cake. There have been fried egg sammiches. The Husband and The Kids turn their noses up at anything scrambled or scrambled-like (quiche or frittata are no-go).

I still have a dozen eggs left to go. Help?

Thanks!
