Drinking the Bottom Shelf: Schlitz Classic 1960s Formula

Funny how people love certain American beers while thumbing their nose at others. Me too! If I have a choice of the American horse-piss beers, I'm drinking Genny Creams all the way. I couldn't believe Bob C from Pittsburgh put it on his "don't" list. Still, there it is.

I like PBR too, but think Rolling Rock should be poured on the ground rather than drunk. I always though Falstaff was a bad joke, but whenever Yuengling is in my area (Western Mass.), I snap it up.

Go account for taste, eh?

This is curious to me. Looking at the photo, I see an overcooked pizza, but no one else commented on this. Is this really what people want? That's not snark. I'm just trying to understand what other people consider excellent pizza.

The equivalent of real Americans eat the equivalent of millions of pounds of real pizza daily!

In Season: Sugar Snap Peas

Hey Carolina, you don't need much space really. I use a variant of the square foot garden method; rows 2' x 12' with a foot between rows. I only have 50' x 50' to grow in and I get a years worth of veggies both fresh and for freezing. You can do it!

Ditto about grazing while picking. I do get more than enough to freeze though. Still, my fam and myself stuff ourselves silly on the peas whilst pickin'.

Do You Know These Regional Pizza Styles?

Oh Boy! Is K2kid right. That's New England pizza alright, but please don't take that as a recommendation. It is the slimiest, grossest pizza on the planet.

I live in Western Mass. and it's nearly impossible to find pizza which doesn't saturate the box and leave its toppings anywhere but on the dough. I have no idea why this is such a regional “specialty”, but it's beyond prevalent. I would only add that it's more common to find puddles of oil on the cheese topping than not. It tends to be really salty too. And the oregano laced tomato sauce is really good for heartburn.

Verdict: Avoid if possible.
