Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box

My fondest pork memory is from a huge pig roast that I went to in Florida. We had about 50 people and were at a camp ground by a lake. It was wonderful since it was a beautiful day and everyone had their families with them and lots of good food. We roasted 2 whole pigs that day and literally "pigged" out.

Cook the Book: 'Nigella Christmas'

I haven't made any cookies that I would consider to be visually stunning but have made some really good frosted sugar cookies that looked great. They were shaped like palm trees and I used the icing to look like what I thought a palm tree would look like if they were cookies.

Cook the Book: 'Good Eats: The Early Years'

I've been fortunate with food prepared for Thanksgiving but I did set a small fire one Thanksgiving. I left a pot holder by the stove and it caught on fire. We easily put the fire out but I had the smoke alarms screaming and guests jumping up and down.

Cook the Book: 'Japanese Hot Pots'

My favorite has to be my Mom's vegetable soup. She makes it with all sorts of fresh veggies, a good soup bone or two and a variety of pastas. Talk about delicious!

Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'

My Mother gave me my first cookbook which was Betty Crocker's and I still have it today. I also gave one to my son when he moved out on his own. It's a great basic cookbook that anyone can use.
