My fondest pork memory is from a huge pig roast that I went to in Florida. We had about 50 people and were at a camp ground by a lake. It was wonderful since it was a beautiful day and everyone had their families with them and lots of good food. We roasted 2 whole pigs that day and literally "pigged" out.

You must be talking about my burnt sugar cookies from last year. I swear that they could have been used for hockey pucks.

I haven't made any cookies that I would consider to be visually stunning but have made some really good frosted sugar cookies that looked great. They were shaped like palm trees and I used the icing to look like what I thought a palm tree would look like if they were cookies.

I lived in Japan when I was younger and the food memory that stands out the most was eating eel. I can vividly remember when it was first served to me and was even more surprised when I discovered that I liked it.

I've been fortunate with food prepared for Thanksgiving but I did set a small fire one Thanksgiving. I left a pot holder by the stove and it caught on fire. We easily put the fire out but I had the smoke alarms screaming and guests jumping up and down.

It's a toss up between my Mom's mushroom rice or sweet potatoe pie.

It has to be my Mom's pecan pie. She makes the best!

My favorite has to be my Mom's vegetable soup. She makes it with all sorts of fresh veggies, a good soup bone or two and a variety of pastas. Talk about delicious!
Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'
My Mother gave me my first cookbook which was Betty Crocker's and I still have it today. I also gave one to my son when he moved out on his own. It's a great basic cookbook that anyone can use.
