Our 8 Favorite Milkshakes in the Bay Area

Really? No mention of JoAnn's Cafe (1131 El Camino Real, South San Francisco, CA. 94080) Buttermilk Milkshakes? I mean, the food is crazy fresh and delicious, but the Buttermilk Milkshake is amazing. It's cheesecake in a glass. No lie. And you want it.

I hope you make it to Heavenly Crumbs in Ft. Greene. Hands down great Red Velvet and German Chocolate cakes. Your "Best Cupcakes" was sorely missing this location. Also, the Ginger Snaps are damn fine.

Serious Heat: What's Spicy in Your Fridge?

Yeah, I've got all that. Right down to trace amounts of Nunzio's Extra Hot Sauce from Bay Ridge here in Brooklyn.

But what I have, that you all should really want, is Chef Wayne's Smokey Tomato Hot Sauce from Chef Waynes's Big Mamou (68 Liberty St. Springfield, MA). They make it right there in the restaurant and will sell you a bottle from there.

It is worth the trip! The Cajun food is very good, but this sauce is amazing.

The Best Cupcakes in New York City

And yet, you still did not include Brooklyn's Heavenly Crumbs in your survey?!! Come on. Yes, this is quite a daunting survey list, but be comprehensive. Heavenly Crumbs will kick giant butt, especially on the Red Velvet front.

The Best Carrot Cake in New York City

Well, again you continue to ignore the cakes at Heavenly Crumbs in Brooklyn. Cakeman Raven is ALL sugar. Ick. HC is amazing. Their Red Velvet is heavenly indeed and and their Carrot Cake and German Chocolate are to die for.

Cakespy: Velveeta Fudge

No. I could add sardines or anchovies to my fudge, but that will not improve it. Really people, this is ridiculous crap, not food. Do you put soda on your cereal too?

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Russ & Daughters Brunch Package

My favorite Brunch used to be the Salmon Omelette at Aggie's with dill and sour cream and a side of potatoes with rye toast and Aggie's coffee. Thanks for the memories. Sky high rent made this brunch disappear.

Have You Ever Deep Fried a Turkey for Thanksgiving?

If you have had deep fried turkey and didn't like it, then it was not cooked correctly. The temperature has to be correct and the oil used should to be peanut oil. The end result should be remarkable. Not dry and oily.

Well, if by off the radar, you mean not on anyone's "hot list", then I toss in Kinara Indian Restaurant at 473 5th Ave, Brooklyn. It is one of the best Indian restaurants in Brooklyn and certainly in Park Slope. I have brought Indian friends who only eat their mother's home cooked food versus eating out, and they all consider this worthy of repeat visits.

Serious Eats Finds New York's Best Bagel

Best Red Velvet Cake in Brooklyn

Honestly folks. Cake Man Raven tastes like sugar. Sweet beyond words and otherwise has no essence. The recipe is online, look it up.

If you want a great Red Velvet, with flavor and moist cake, Heavenly Crumbs in Fort Green is the answer. The icing on top not a sugary glop like CMR. It has flavor and a hint of tartness that makes it a must have. Also, their German Chocolate Cake is beyond words delicious.
