Using a rubber jar lid opener to remove garlic peels. Smashing it with the side of a knife works fine when I want to mince the garlic, but this other method is great for times when I want to slice the cloves or leave them whole.

Forget Iron Chef: I Judged the Battle of the Briskets

My mother's been serving her brisket made with canned whole-berry cranberry sauce and onion soup mix for years and it's delicious, so it's great to see that this similar recipe was judged so highly. I love to cook with whole, fresh ingredients whenever I can, but sometimes the shortcuts just work so well!

'On Top of Spaghetti' Book Giveaway

I love any kind of ravioli, but the best ravioli dish I ever had was filled with sweet potato and topped with a sage butter sauce. Absolutely delicious!
