The Burger Lab: How To Make The Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger

This looks good but I do them diferently and I think my way is better. Please try this and tell me what you think.
Lower bun toasted, smeared with thousand island but not too much of it, four stripes of bacon (3 aligned and one crossing the others) cooked in water (Put boiling water in your skillet, bacon in the water, then let the water evaporate and keep cooking the bacon until crisp), two or three thin slices of tomato, a smashed 6 ounce patty, caramelized onions and two slices of cheese melt over the onions, some mustard if you want and then the upper bun.
When you bite this, the first thing you taste is the bacon, accentuated by the sweet thousand island. The tomato serves as a separation between the bacon and the beef, you almost can't taste it, but it impedes the bacon from overpowering the beef. Try it.
