I modified the spicy cashew sauce for a vegan pizza. I soaked the cashews for a few hours and used the water they soaked in as the broth. In addition, I used three peppers and about 1/3c Nutritional Yeast. This made for a very tasty base and top sauce!! Great recipe. Will try out the full recipe, soon. It sounds incredible.
I realized recently that I had never made a LIIT and remembered this post. I was very pleased with the complex cola syrup and the flavor it adds to the drink, but a little disappointed in the recipe. I understand it is "upgraded," but in my opinion should more closely resemble the flavor that most associate with a LIIT. On my first try, I followed the recipe exactly and I think the citrus was too much and overpowered all the other flavors. I think the citrus should be decreased by at least half and some of the alcohols increased.
Thanks for the amazing cola syrup recipe and I will keep plugging away (maybe on a future nite because one of these is all I need) at tweaking the recipe until I get it to my desired taste.
Note: I was not using a carbonated shaker.
Whatever has the highest easiest to fix to tastiest ratio. :)
It's my favorite mass produced candy bar. I love the richness. Only eat one about every year or so though.
It's great to see this local, Colorado market getting some attention. I didn't know the details of how it came to be and really enjoyed reading the owner's story.
I look forward to getting my hands on some.
I am looking for what to take with me when I bartend parties or gatherings.
I am baffled by states differing open container laws. In Arkansas and a few other states, the passenger can drink while the vehicle is in motion. In Mississippi the driver can drink as long as not legally drunk. http://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/open-container-laws-by-state.html
Very informative and interesting. I am attending a bartending class next month and all the info from Serious Drinks helps.
