2 slices and a drink to go for less than $3 is a distant memory to me. In Denver, you can't get out for under $5 and the pizza is nowhere near as good. This looks better than many of the 2 and 3 dollar slices in my city!

Do You Have A Weird Pizza Eating Habit?

I rip columns down a triangular NY style slice, starting from the outer edge crust and working my way down, essentially making smaller slices as I go... This is also a way that I use to check out the cohesiveness of crust/sauce/cheese- nothing should be slipping off of ripping uncontrollably when I do this. It's nice to know I can openly admit weird shit like this, you guys. It feels really good.

DAMN I cut my finger again!

Three weeks ago I pressed power instead of eject on my immersion blender and ended up with it lodged in my left index finger. I had to walk into the ER with it still in my hand.... quite the experience. Walked away with a bottle of Vicodin, 6 stitches, and some nerve damage that should fix itself. I know I am very lucky but how mortifying... I was "that person" in the ER- the nurses were taking pictures on their camera phones! (and yes, I have used it since- washed it twice and soaked it in a mild bleach solution...)

DB- have you been to Belemonti's on Santa Fe down here in Denver? I've heard good things about their Chicago-style thin crust. If you're in the mood for a NY slice- Brooklyn Joe's on Colfax (right near the capitol) and Virgilio's in Lakewood are both more than passable. Joe's sausage in particular is a fennel-bombed standout.

Oh man this brings back some serious memories for me, I miss these little dogs! I went to high school in Troy, about a mile from Famous and have to say that my favorite pizza place is just around the corner- I Love NY Pizza, on the corner of 4th and Congress. @dmcavanaugh Gus' and Famous are so so much better than Hot Dog Charlie's. I promise.

Where Do You Get Your Favorite Pizza?

I have two... My favorite sit-down family-style place is Mama's in Clifton Park NY- great sicilian and a killer NY style pie too. For a slice best consumed after midnight, there is a greasy place called I Love New York Pizza (Though it is only ever referred to as "I-Love") in Troy, NY and it really is slice perfection. I would gladly eat it sober but the fact that is it open till 5 AM doesn't hurt its rating.

Vine St Pub in Denver CO.They are a really laid back pub known for their beer (pints are $4.20, bro...) but the food is great as well. The SOB Burger is amazing!

United States of Pizza: Colorado (Denver)

Virgilio's (in Lakewood) for NYC-Style slices, hands down. Honorable mentions to Enzo's and Luciano's for doing things that lay a bit outside of NYC but I still can relate to when I think of slices from home (Albany-area NY.)
