French Macarons from Trader Joe's Are Pretty Damn Good

I tried these last month and was rather disappointed. They were too soft and lacking the slight crunch and chew of a good macaron. I would rather have paid the same amount for 2-3 decent macarons from NYC. Thankfully, I have since learned how to make macarons so I'm no longer limited to these options.

Mentally doubling or halving recipes usually spells disaster for me... in college I tried to double a cookie recipe and forgot to double the sugar! Needless to say, all the cookies were thrown out.
