Roosevelt Food Court (aka 'Beautiful Food City') Opens its Doors in Flushing

Loved the bit about the kebab restaurant at the new food court.

Used a bit for Nuts in NY: http://www.nutsinny.com/all-nuts/soup-to-nuts-halloween-weekend-edition

Also, there is a great, cheap kebab place near there called Kabul Kebab (as good as Persepolis on the Upper East Side but lots cheaper).

That guy that mans the counter from Eyili Kabab King is from Xinjiang (at least that is what he told me when I asked him). I was trying to find out if he was Kazak, which he didn't answer me.

The people from Han Song Ting are Chinese Koreans near the border of North Korea on the China side. They consider themselves Chinese as many nationalities in the US consider themselves Americans. Koreans are one of the ethnic minorities in China where there is about a 200 year history in China.

Great report, as usual. I can't wait to try this food court on my next NY jaunt in the Spring (though, like you, I won't easily be pried away from 41-28 Main). The open-ended pot stickers are called just that (kai kou guo tie) in Shanghai or "Zhonghua Road" pot stickers in Taiwan. Those at the Roosevelt Mall look a little underdone to me; here's a version I had at a fast food chain ("Overseas Dragon") in Shanghai that serves nothing but these pot stickers and a soup for accompaniment:

Great review! That kebab stall better shape up. The $1 kebabs from the street cart are awesome!
