Cheap and Funky dinner in Tribeca area NYC
I'm looking for a delicious and inexpensive place to go to dinner in the Tribeca area of New York city. I don't know the area at all, so any suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks!
A college student who loves running, writting and eating.
The Colonial has amazing upside down pizza. If you travel onto the hill near Lafayette College there's campus pizza, Pizza D'Oro's and Morici's. All are great!
My signature, go to dish is left over pasta with butter, cheese and a sprinkle of Cayenne pepper. You've got to add a large tablespoon of butter to cold pasta. Top with a massive amount of Parmesan cheese then microwave for 1 minute. Then sprinkle with a little Cayenne. The cheese and butter melt together to make a perfectly simple pasta dish.
@finsbigfan Thanks for the article. It explains a lot. Now I know that my dad didn't exaggerate on this story!
My go to is pesto pasta with chicken and vegetables.
Ingredients:
pasta
1 chicken breast
1 steam-in-bag of frozen mixed vegetables
1 jar pesto sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper
Step 1: Boil 1 pot of water. Add pasta. Cook until al dente.
Step 2: Cut chicken breasts into bite sized pieces. Add olive oil to a saute pan on medium-heat. Add chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook through.
Step 3: Steam frozen vegetables in the microwave.
Step 4: Drain pasta, add cooked chicken and vegetables. Stir in pesto sauce.
Super quick and tastes great
If 'company' happens to be a date, there's no way I'm serving garlic. That's only going to end badly for me in the end ...

I'm in Williamsburg, va with my track team for a spring training trip. We want to go out to a nice-ish dinner one night. We're college students so $20 main course max, but we'd sill like it to be tasty. Anything Tavern/colonial style would be nice. Thanks!
My dad, who is known to exaggerate, claims that there is a cilantro gene that makes some people love the flavor of cilantro and others find it disgusting. Does anyone know if there's truth behind this?

One time, I snuck a cheesesteak into a movie. The ushers didn't notice, but the couple next to me kept looking at me like I had 10 eyes. Either way, it was delicious!
