favorite apple? and how do you eat it?

Fuji, although (based on the comments), I think I'll try Honey Crisp... Apples with fruit dip: mix an 8-ounce pkg. softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup jam of choice. Let it chill and eat with any fruit. I think it's best with apples!

What's your favorite Chip/Snack and flavor?

Okay, I'm changing the topic a little. Maybe it's just an addition. What do y'all like to use as dips? Regular corn chips are gluten-free for me...yay! What are your favorite dips ("normal" or otherwise), for all of these tasty chips
Oh, and I actually enjoy baked Lays...yum!

What is your favorite (quick and easy) breakfast food?

smoothie with banana, strawberries or other fruit, milk or juice and a tablespoon of Ovaltine or malted milk powder
cottage cheese with pineapple
occasionally yogurt with flax seed meal; I'll try it with honey some time...
waffle with butter and a bit of cinnamon and sugar
The next time you make pancakes, freeze leftovers, and you have a quick way to prepare and eat them!
toast with: apple butter, peanut butter, cinnamon and sugar, jam, honey
with a banana on the side
and when I have to force myself to eat (no appetite because of medical conditions and meds)...I go with a nutritional supplement. Sometimes it's easier to drink than eat something, especially when you just feel you can't. Meal replacements are also convenient and portable. I like Carnation instant breakfast (all flavors) and Ensure (chocolate is my favorite, not a fan of vanilla, and strawberry is pretty good. Has anyone used the Butter Pecan before? If so, is it worth buying?

What do you do with a bunch of bananas?

Banana chips are great, especially when I'm in class. When I need the banana fix, I go for the chips instead of risking getting "banana juice" on my laptop. For a smoothie, put one or two bananas in a blender and add a packet of Carnation instant breakfast with one cup of milk...blend well and enjoy! You can't go wrong with bananas and chocolate syrup.

Interesting food combinations

First, it's a good thing I don't have to use proper grammatical rules here, because I'm not going to. I love mac and cheese with tuna and peas. Rice, tuna and frozen peas works well...of course it needs a sprinkling of cheese. French fries with honey...yum! Bananas with sour cream?...that is something I might enjoy. I can see the whole M&M and goldfish cracker thing working...too bad I can't eat goldfish anymore! Before I found gluten-free crackers and bread I liked, I would put the following on plain rice cakes...not all mixed together!...nutella, brown sugar and cinnamon swirl cream cheese, any flavor jelly or jam, peanut butter, a slice of cheese... Applesauce goes with everything. Sausage with maple syrup is a combination found everywhere. Frozen sausage with maple syrup is out there, the McGriddle, etc. Oh man, I used to love the McGriddle! Banana pudding with chocolate sprinkles...I never got into the peanut butter and mayo sandwich, but mayo and cheese work great between two slices of bread. This thread is quite interesting, and I look forward to reading more.

Interesting food combinations

When I was younger, there were some candy shops that sold chocolate-covered potato chips. They were absolutely yummy!

When craving a velvety, creamy food, I eat ____

Nutella straight from the jar. I only do this on rare occasions, though. I wish nutella was still made as a slab type thing...they used to make it like a slice of cheese, so it was a solid placed between pieces of bread. Then, German children would take the nutella out and throw the bread away; that's why nutella was switched to a spreadable form. If it was still solid, I could easily pack it and enjoy something creamy while listening to professors' lectures.

I eat ____ with cottage cheese

I eat cottage cheese plain as well. However, it tastes super yummy with tuna. I though it would be terrible, but it's great! It's easy and quick, which is helpful for those of us with pain and fatigue issues. I also like to mix pineapple with my cottage cheese. There is a brand (I can't remember which one, and that tells you how much I like it lol) that already mixes the stuff, and it's gross. Therefore, I just add my own pineapple if I want it.

Tasty toast toppers....

I was just looking at the posts about topping toast with cream cheese. Add jam to that...yyum! The first time someone suggested eating a sandwich with cream cheese and jam, I thought they were crazy, but it's actually really good.

Favorite gluten-free breakfast?

Thanks for sharing! I, too, enjoy toast with honey! Yum! I have some other conditions and meds that affect my appetite and ability/desire to eat entire meals, so something light, such as the toast with honey, rice cereal/cornflakes or a banana is perfect. I also enjoy granola (favorite brand thus far is Udis) with milk or in yogurt! Sometimes I have to use nutritional supplements; Ensure is GF, and the best flavor is chocolate!

Vital Wheat Gluten, Where Are You?

Go down the organic aisle of your grocery store, and you'll find Bob's Red Mill products. They make vital wheat flour with gluten. They make many gluten-free products (which is how I know about the brand)! so be sure you look for the words "with gluten" so you don't end up with gluten-free flour (rice, potato, quinoa, buckwheat, etc). i hope this helps!

Hershey's Chocolate Bar Recipe Ideas?

I'm going to stray a bit here; the following is not a baked good at all. Melt the chocolate, dip bananas in then roll the chocolate-coated bananas in flaked coconut, nuts etc. and freeze until serving. Notes: You may want to cut bananas in half (width) and insert popsicle sticks or something similar before you dip your bananas in melted chocolate. Be sure to place the finished bananas on a cookie sheet (or baking pan) lined with waxed paper before you freeze.

Tasty toast toppers....

I have to use gluten-free bread, so I choose the sandwich bread e.g. ener-G, rather than the thick-sliced more dense forms of bread. It's interesting to find enjoyable toppings with that crazy new texture, and I find I need to use more of the topping. So...
tuna fish w/mayonaise/sweet relish
or: tuna w/melted cheddar cheese
Honey, which is almost completely absorbed by the bread, but tastes so yummy
butter and cinnamon/sugar, of course
strawberry cream cheese
brown sugar and cinnamon cream cheese
peanut butter/jelly
butter w/maple syrup is my next try

best eaten with: banana, gluten-free granola (best brand, Udis), gluten-free puffed rice cereal and cornflakes
...yum!
