Cook the Book: Cowgirl Cuisine
My mom's mac 'n cheese rocks!
The first time I tried cornbread was in a restaurant in Dallas (many many years ago). I never had it before and it was absolutely addictive! I've been trying so many recipes at home but I could never settle on the right one. I really hope to win this book and try the recipes - maybe I'll finally find the right match.
Any kind of cheesecake will do. I just love the smell of baked cream cheese and sugar.
The best investment I made (after buying a chest freezer) was getting a slow cooker. I got a large 6 quart one and I throw in all my veggies and meat at night and wake up to an amazing stew every morning. There's plenty of food left for 3 dinners (it's just the two of us).
Marrakech, Morocco - daily visits to the souks for fresh produce and spices, shopping for fabric and beads; just a total immersion in the rich food of Morocco.
Savoy, France - reminisce in childhood memories from a trip I took with my grandparents when I was 12.
Okinawa, Japan - to learn more about the cuisine and daily life which is so different from the busy lifestyle I've witnessed in Tokyo.
Passover is all about coconut macaroons!
Forget the Latkes! Hanukkah isn't Hanukkah without Sufganyiot...
A nice cup of tea with a slice of Rose Levy Beranbaum's Cordon Blue cheesecake, with blueberry coulis. I'd share it with my husband and special guest, Gordon Ramsay.

My Korean wedding banquet. OK, she had help, but I know her food and her organizational skills and so I can confidently say, she prepared this meal. And it was amazing and I will always remember it.
Mom rarely puts her heart into cooking. About twenty years ago, though, she prepared meat fondue -- that was great fun! And most memorable. Loved cooking my beef and chicken in the hot oil at the table. She also allowed all of us to make our own assortment of dipping sauces. My brother mixed grape jelly with godknowswhat. We all laughed. It's a shame we never had it again.
Her cooking and baking was so phenomenal, it's impossible to choose. She was always trying new recipes, especially from Julia and Jacques. I loved her pies and gratins.
My mother makes homemade ravioli and Italian spaghetti suace and meatballs to die for. She's Sicilian
Stuffed artichokes smothered in tomato sauce.. YUM.
