The Greatest Dining Bargain in the World

Oh yes. If you are real careful and just order the 2 plates for 28.07 with a 20% tip, you can test drive the food and formal dining room at JGs for 34.00 a person and still get the amuse, petit fours, marshmallows and macaroons. Not to mention the fantastic service. My last lunch at JG (formal room) involved a 3rd plate (extra 12.00 per plate), dessert at 10.00,and 1 glass of wine (tip not included) which beat Le Bernardin's 64.00 special (no liquor)--another must do lunch :)

Jean-Georges did raise the dinner tasting menus to 148.00 to pay for the beautifully redone dining room. Hopefully this will subsidize the lunch specials. I also agree that when JGV is not there, you cannot tell. I read that Jean-Georges Vongerichten is driven by the passion to please more than his ego. This lunch deal (and his 98.00 dinner 3 course pre-fix) makes it very believable.

Thank you Jean-Georges.
