Hamburger America: Eastside Big Tom in Olympia, Washington

There is also a Big Tom's on the West Side on Harrison just beyond Yenney's.

I do love Big Tom's! They were a mainstay when I was working nearby!

I always dash up to Big Tom's when the plumbing's running a little slow. We've nicknamed it the High-Colonic Burger.

Ah, Shakey's. Motto: 'It's terrible, but it's cheap and there's lots!'

The kids get pizza, the adults get beer. So many memories...

The goop was great I know the recipe. Big Tom's was the greatest when I grew up. My little league team would go there, or Shakey's, after we won. There was one in Lacey and Tumwater too, but I think the West Olympia is the only one left. (Tito, did you go to Evergreen, St. Martins, or SPSCC? I went to Evergreen class of 90.)

"Goop" doesnt even sound like something I would want on my burger. I dont really dont understand this that phenomenon on pilling all this crap on a burger somehow makes it better. I feel like there are a lot of great burgers out there that just have one ingredient too many.

Not a fan of mayo, so no "goop" for me.

The picture looks almost like the burgers I make at home in my cast iron skillet. Makes me want to whip some up right now. Yummy!
