Serious Holiday Giveaway: The Baking Steel

My absolute favorite toppings are fresh button mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, and red onions with fresh shredded mozz and homemade sauce with tons of garlic all on a super yeasty tasting dough! Reminds me of how my grandmother makes her homemade pizza :D

Thoughts on Swiss cheese...am I the only one?

Emmentaler/and Swiss cheese as Americans know it, is extremely low salt. Salt of course, brings out flavor! I adore Emmentaler/Swiss cheese for it's mild, nutty, unassuming but such distinct flavor.... Cave aged is the BEST. And it is absolutely incedible melted atop a crock of French onion soup. Guiltfully ( I always add a bit of sea salt. I have to. I'm salt obsessed. And when you salt a bit of cave aged Emmentaler... It's just heaven :)

Crazy for Condiments

I am a condiment fiend. Dressing, salsa, the spicy Dijon mustard from Trader Joe's, wasabi, Valencia Mexican hot sauce (if you haven't tried this it is AWESOME)... typically many or all of these things will go on top of a massive salad for dinner. I try to tame my excessive condiment use when we are out and have guests...

Oh! And cranberry sauce too... I make whole berry cranberry sauce with OJ as SOON as fresh berries are available. I eat that stuff by the spoonful all season :) I use it in place of jam for cashew/almond/peanut butter sandwiches.... GREAT on turkey sandwiches too... or as an oatmeal topping. SO good :)

National Ice Cream Day - What are you cooling off with?

Vinho Verde :) And perhaps a dish of mint choc chip later.... Though I must say I am in an insatiable popcorn mood... Ice cream may have to wait hahaha

What's Your Favorite Ice Cream Flavor?

As I am sure is the case with most of you my tastes and thus my fave flavours have changed over the years.... Now I am a sucker for mint chocolate chip, rum raisin, and vanilla soft serve with a ridiculous amount of chocolate sprinkles!
