Cook the Book: Pumpkin Baking
Pumpkin oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (adapted from a Libby's recipe). They've been a fall tradition in my family for as long as I can remember.
Cook the Book: 'The Craft of Baking'
The lemon cupcakes at my wedding.
Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'
My first cookbook was The Fun of Cooking, a lovely glossy book with amazing photos by Jill Krementz. I don't remember making anything other than the teddy bear bread, but I read it over and over.
Cook the Book: 'What We Eat When We Eat Alone'
Anything on toast - hagel (dutch chocolate sprinkles), jam, peanut butter, melted cheese, scrambled eggs if I'm feeling motivated.
Cook the Book: '100 Best Vegetarian Recipes'
My favorite recent vegetarian meal was spaghetti with marinara sauce, sauteed eggplant, and lots of fresh basil. So good.
Cook the Book: 'Modern Spice'
Persian, Indian, Japanese, Korean, French... I don't know how I can choose just one.
Cook the Book: Eugenia Bone's 'Well-Preserved'
Strawberries and lemons.
Cook the Book: Smoked Ham with Avocado and Butter
@Channa Make sure you never eat a sandwich in France, then! Personally, I think butter is so much more delicious on most sandwiches than mayo.
Cook the Book: ''Wichcraft'
Sliced strawberries macerated in sugar and good aged balsamic vinegar, shredded basil, mascarpone cheese or creme fraiche, on toasted ciabatta.
Cook the Book: 'The Great Wings Book'
Pizza and kettle corn.
Weekend Book Giveaway: 'American Cheeses'
Another Humboldt Fog fan here. So delicious!
Cook the Book: 'Into the Vietnamese Kitchen'
To cook at home more, especially making lunches for the week so I don't end up grabbing $9 salads all the time.
Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box
The first time I made candied bacon. Yummmm.
Cook the Book: 'The Sweeter Side of Amy's Bread'
Pumpkin oatmeal chocolate chip. My favorite thing about fall.
We Approve of Bloomberg's Hypothetical Last Breakfast
If it's my last breakfast ever? Bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll; poffertjes with strawberries; pain au chocolat; a macchiato; and hash browns or latkes.
Cook the Book: 'Summer on a Plate'
Molly Wizenberg (aka Orangette) -- her blog has led me to try cooking all kinds of things that I would have never attempted otherwise.

In Los Angeles, Fred 62's Jucy Lucy Is Like In-N-Out on Steroids
@Delinia It's a really good pickle.
There are many delicious things I miss from LA, but I think Fred 62 burgers top the list.
Cook the Book: 'The Food Life'
My favorite supermarkets are both in the Atlanta area -- Publix and Harry's. Harry's is what I wish Wegman's was -- huge and packed with an enormous variety of things. Wegman's just seems to have more shelves of the same old things.
How do you tip?
20% of the total bill, unless it was really bad service, in which case I might knock it down to 15. The one and only time I didn't leave a tip was at a dive bar in Boston when I was in college -- my friend and I both ordered the cheeseburger special, and mine came 30 minutes later than his, with no explanation or apology. The waitress was also rude and ignored us all night. The total bill was about $8, and I couldn't bring myself to leave her a cent. She ended up chasing us down the street and screaming at us about how you don't just go into a person's house and eat their food for free. Very weird, especially considering we did pay for the food, just not a tip.
Jersey Dispatch: Ice Cream at The Bent Spoon and Thomas Sweet in Princeton
The best ice cream in Princeton is at Halo Pub. They have so many good flavors, all homemade, and it's so cheap! Their chocolate with strawberries may be my favorite ice cream ever.

Mark Bittman's Cranberry Relish with Orange and Ginger sounds EXACTLY like the cranberry orange relish my mom used to make, except that she added pecans and made hers using an old-fashioned meat grinder (the kind you clamp to a counter top) instead of a food processor. I still make it every year!

The classic menu just sounds perfect, I can even smell the Turkey cooking now. I'm not so sure about the pumpkin pudding pie but as long as the rest of the meal goes as planned I'm sure it would be wonderful.
