Wow! There are so many tasty food blogs to add to my list of blogs to visit!

Mine is a mish-mosh of my recipes and customs stemming from my rural Cajun roots, with a good measure of my own recipes and cocktails thrown in! First, Make a Roux http://makearoux.blogspot.com/

From Serious Eats

Unified Dining Table

Um, yeah. That won't work when Hubby needs to get up for seconds and I am still on firsts!

Anyone cooking up Mardi Gras?

Yup, we're having neighbors over for red beans and rice, gumbo, gumbo z'herbes, shrimp and grits, boudin platter, and crawfish bread. I've already baked a few king cakes (http://makearoux.blogspot.com/2009/02/king-cake.html), but those are now eaten and I'll be baking a couple more. :)

Bison Burger.

To my tastebuds, bison has a bit more of a distinctive iron flavor. You know, kind of like what you sense when you get a whiff of an iron-heavy vitamin. I love it way more than beef.

The Weirdest Thing I've Ever Made

So many of these concoctions sound delicious.

One of the yummiest 'weird' things I make is a sauce of pureed, roasted cauliflower, garlic, & white beans that I slather over pizza dough for a "white pizza". I then top with cheese and greens. The sauce is strange, but I totally love it! http://tinyurl.com/6j3cjs

I think I'll soon try to make up a concoction of (leftover) homemade cranberry sauce and cottage cheese. Anyone got any ideas???

Do you share food?

I won't share food with anyone except for Hubby, my parents, and my sis. I will *not* share food with my icky stepkid, though. She never washes her hands, picks her nose constantly, etc. EWWWWWW!

Kitchen Duty: My most dreaded and detested task is _____.

Well, I'm in agreement with those of you who said that emptying the dishwasher is the worst chore. The reason for this being that my husband is a wee bit hard of hearing and, with our everyday living room being within easy earshot of the kitchen, he refuses to run the dishwasher while he is awake. So, we wash the dishes while we are asleep and I do not get to them until I get home from work the next evening. I *HATE* emptying the damned dishwasher just so I can cook dinner and add more dirties to it.

Apple Pie Problem

I let my apples drain in advance, like smallblondmom said. Haven't have much extra space left between crust and filling in 10 years of pie-baking.

Po'Boy Preservation Festival This Weekend in New Orleans

Aw yeah, baby! Po'boy, how do I love thee, let me count the ways:

1. fried ersta
2. Creole smoked sausage patties w/ cheese
3. fried shrimp
4. Ferdi special
5. fried catfish
6. fried softshell crab
7. cheeseburger po'boy
8. roast beef with 'debris'
9. hot sausage link with Creole mustard
10. bbq shrimp

Oooh weee! My mouth is waterin' already!

Eating out..Alone

I am quite self-conscious and refuse to eat alone in a restaurant. I don't mind having a drink alone at a bar, but food is different, somehow. On the very rare occasion that I am traveling alone for work, I order room service.

I know, I'm pathetic. Then again, I have very weird social dining rules, like never ordering a sandwich at a business lunch. You never know when things could get messy!

Look, all of us want more blog traffic, and there is no way we can read all of our collective blogs, but we should really make an effort to check out at least other 5 SE's blogs if we post our own in this thread --after all, not fair to 'shill' if you don't help others out!

So wonderful to have so many fellow writers! I actually have two blogs to share. One is my personal blog: www.thedilettantista.wordpress.com which covers, well, EVERYTHING, cooking, restaurants, movies, etc. I started it this summer when I was living in New York City for an internship, so it is especially heavy on NYC eating.

I am also a contributing writer to Carpe Durham, a food blog that focuses on eating in Durham, North Carolina. The blog was started a few years ago by Duke law students, and I am a newer writer. The blog is a great source if you live in the Triangle area!

@Madelyn -- KarmaFreeCooking is one of my favorite blogs! I love it. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into it.

While I'm at it, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you food bloggers. The time, effort, and enthusiasm you all put into your blogs delights, entertains, and educates the rest of us.

Thank you all!
