Chain Reaction: We Try Papa John's New Chicken Poppers

I am in a fowl mood. [Rimshot!] Seriously, though, I'm in a funk. I know the days are getting longer already, and that's nice, and I did just get back from a week-long trip to sunny San Diego, but we've got another winter storm headed our way this week, and I just can't. Which is why I fall squarely among the target demographic for Papa John's New Chicken Poppers. I've got the bleus. More

Reality Check: We Try Burger King's New Rodeo Sandwiches

What if I told you that for $1 you could get a value-sized burger or chicken sandwich and a side order of onion rings with barbecue sauce? Too good to be true, right? Well it is, sort of. Burger King's new Rodeo Chicken Sandwich and Rodeo Burger are exactly that, just all under the same bun. Call it a 'mashup', if that helps. Better yet, call them unexpected jewels in the King's crown. More

Ask a Cicerone: The Best Beers for People Who Don't Like Beer

@AndriodUser I completely agree that aggressive hop bitterness can be a big turnoff to many. The good thing about this beer (DFH 61) is that the hop character is muted by the grapes' fruit notes. That's why it's such a remarkable beer. Seriously, I'd love to hear your thoughts after you've had it!

Ask a Cicerone: The Best Beers for People Who Don't Like Beer

Would have put money on a mention for Dogfish Head's 61 Minute (IPA with Syrah grape must). Since its debut last year, it has quickly become one of my top recommendations for self-professed "wine people." As opposed to sour beers, which are great for wine fans but often very far removed from the rest of "beerdom", 61 retains its IPA characteristics making it a great choice to transition/explore other more "beer-y" styles (if that makes sense). Great insight as always, SE: Drinks!

Reality Check: We Try Subway's New Sriracha Steak and Chicken Melts

@BrockSamson Essentially all of the legwork and credit for acquiring the entire Inspector Gadget goes to my mom. I love you, mom! (Hmm, probably should have put that in the body.) Cheers!

Reality Check: We Try Subway's New Sriracha Steak and Chicken Melts

@A Serial Cereal Eater. I KNOW I KNOW :/! I appreciate and understand your feedback, and I'm committed to improving the photo quality. New apartment with weird lighting = sub par work. Cheers!

Reality Check: We Try Subway's New Sriracha Steak and Chicken Melts

@Adam Kuban: Thanks for the clarification. Since you seem to be part of the core target demo for this sandwich, I have to ask if you have eaten/intend to try this sandwich? If so, what did you think? Did it fairly represent the movie? Cheers!

Reality Check: We Try Wendy's New Pretzel Pub Chicken Sandwich

@ccbweb My local Wendy's was not offering a choice of chicken, it was the same patty as the Fried Homestyle Chicken Fillet. But as a rule, I prefer the spicy chicken sandwich! I'm confused by the 'mayo' comment, though, since the Pretzel Pub Chicken Sandwich doesn't have mayo (like the other, traditional offerings). Regardless, I'm glad she enjoyed. Cheers!

@thesteveroller YES!

We Try the New Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich from Dunkin' Donuts

@Rabonour Common sense to you and me, perhaps. I wonder how many people suffer needlessly from GFS (Glazed Finger Syndrome) because they don't know it's okay to flip the donut. For them, I write. Cheers!

Reality Check: We Try the New Premium McWrap from McDonald's

pdonphillips: HA! Well played!

Reality Check: We Try the New Premium McWrap from McDonald's

ccbweb: Fair point! As you can see from the first picture (pre-manipulation), the first bite would have been all tortilla, so I attempted to reassemble it at evenly as possible. 'Balance' in this case comes from the weight/size of the chicken pieces that tended to fall to the bottom, as well as the fact that with only 2 cucumber slices, it's (largely) inevitable that many bites will contain no cuke at all. Does that make sense? Cheers and thanks for the input!
