Rainbow cookies with marzipan

I'm also a fan of these cookies! I know that Moishes Kosher Bakery on 2nd Ave. just south of St. Mark's Place has them. I've tried a number of the pastries there and they are all quite good.
They're closed on the Sabbath though, so get their quick (though sundown is later these days).

I finally found some and have been waiting for another Fage post!

I have been eating mine with a little bit of strawberry perserves mixed in. I tried peanut butter and honey the other day.

Have you tried making them? They're really not nearly as hard as it might appear -- I made a couple dozen over Christmas for my uncle and it was a lot simpler than I ever could have imagined. Of course, these are the Italian ones with jam between the layers, just chocolate on top, and almond paste in the dough, but they're still fantastic. These are the ones I made. Mmm ... I might have to make some more soon ..

Thanks! I will go off to try these places. I used to live near Orwasher's but haven't been there in ages! I really like the marzpan layer as opposed to the Italian version which sometimes adds the marzipan to the tri-colored dough.
