puttanesca
Well, quite honestly- Fairway.. Perfect mix of great and varied produce, quality meats, cheeses, great seafood- good spice selection.. olive bar. It is what whole foods should aspire to.
None in NYC that I know of, but a great cheap seafood place on LI- SouthShore Fish & Clams is known for their awesome twin lobster platters (21.95) and great half shells, etc.. def the fries/beer environment, but seriously good and simply prepared seafood.
Ramps and olive oil marinated feta and walnuts/almonds is one of my seasonal greenmarket favorites.
La Isla is pretty great, and the Mongolian place on S1st is good too. I also love Di Palma in n bergen.
grilled salmon with Trader joes garlic mustard ailoi; microwave in the bag spinach and some brown rice on a weeknight.. fast, easy. Tasty!
Columbian adaptation of eggs benedict at cafe cito in greenpoint.
lots of garlic, pesto, freshly grated parmesan, and a sprinkling of cracked black pepper. heck, may as well throw in some bacon
My mom's home made tomato sauce with carrots and onions and spinach ground up, along with ground beef. It's perfect.
Puttanesca Or Carbonara can't choose between the two-Both Yum Mo!
....fresh basil, tomatoes, garlic and mozzarella.
Carbonara's good (mmm, bacon), but I'd have to go with bolognese for the win. Lots of meat for me, please. Then again, a good pesto really hits the spot sometimes. Or alfredo, or...
I like a chunky marinara, lots of peppers (hot and sweet) and garlic. Thank you!
I've always liked my mom's marinara sauce but every now and then I love me some alfredo.
Almost anything, but when it really comes down to it I have to go with Calvin Trillin and carbonara. But it has to be done right!
Probably a bolognese, but anything with a good olive oil and bits of tomato will do.
Or just the olive oil.
good-quality olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes
