Cook the Book: 'The Barcelona Cookbook'
Well, it was more a memorable tapas experience - my friend and I ate our way across Barcelona, always stopping at the various jamon establishments (Palacio del Jamon!) I've never eaten more pork in my life, but boy was it worth it.
Cook the Book: 'Into the Vietnamese Kitchen'
More veggies, less meat. This book would really help me out with that!
Cook the Book: 'Simple Italian Snacks'
Mixed nuts roasted with butter, rosemary and cayenne pepper. My friends are disappointed if I don't have a fresh batch made when they come over!
Cook the Book: 'Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics'
Stuffing with LOTS of sage. And my brother can't live without cranberry sauce from the can (yuck).
What's the Best Mexican Food Town in the U.S.?
C) Los Angeles. Taco trucks - 'nuff said.
I'm going to jump on the San Antonio is not real Mexican bandwagon, too. Some of the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had was there. Guess that's why they call it Tex-Mex.
Cook the Book: The Sweet Melissa Baking Book
Ice cream! and when I can get it, gelato :)
Cook the Book: Nigella Express
I also cook extra rice and freeze it in half-cup servings. 2 min. in the microwave and I'm done! Tastes just like fresh made, too. I've served it to guests and no one could tell that it was frozen.

Anything my husband doesn't like/won't eat! Most recently a yummy peanut butter, banana and honey sandwich.
Cook the Book: 'Vegetable Harvest'
Like everyone here, I have only herbs, BUT I just moved into a house, so I can't wait for carrots, radishes, cucumbers, peppers and Roma tomatoes. I love garden-fresh salsa!
Anyone know of a good butcher or fishmonger in West Los Angeles?
For the butcher I like Victor's - it's right off the 10 at National Blvd. where it meets Palms. It's a small family business, so nothing fancy, but they're very friendly and helpful. They'll special order something if they don't carry it. Nice deli there, too.
