I just tried the Ben & Jerry's Last Night Snack and it was horrible. The ice cream was great but the potato chip balls tasted burnt.

FATHERS DAY FOOD MEMORIES...

My dad used to make Fried Pork Chops with BBQ Sauce. (he would add the sauce while they were still frying. they were greasy and sticky with sauce and they were the best!
Today I'm making pork chops (on the grill) for dad and my husband.

Crisco and Cookies *or* Crisco in anything

I use crisco to fry chicken, make pie crusts and a teaspoon or 2 when fying fish.
my grandmothers used crisco daily and both lived into their 90's with no diabetes, heart disease or cholestrol issues.
use it in moderation like everything else.

What do I do with grits?

As a child I ate my grits with butter and sugar and my Granny who cooked them was from the south.
Today it's with butter, salt & pepper, maybe some crisp bacon mixed in.
Shrimp & grits is always a hit!

Gripe of the Day: Reservations Are a Two-Way Street

I would say that a reservation to insure that your seats are available when you arrive isn't the same as expecting acceptable service.
The waiter seemed knowledgable regarding the easiest things to order but what about the rest of his job. Just because your seats were at the opposite end of the restaurant doesn't excuse his poor service. Did anyone in your party inform the waiter (or manager) of your extended wait or request to be served asap?
I think this visit requires some kind of comment card to the manager.
