Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: La Quercia's Cured Meat Experience

It's my fave on an antipasto plate, with something sweet, savory and acid to accompany. But I also love it wrapping just about any kind of meat, or diced into any pasta dish.

Dinner Tonight: Chicken with Tomato-Saffron Vinaigrette with Mixed Greens

This was so very, very good, even without the saffron that I was too cheap to buy. Light for a hot day, and quick for a busy night. My pickiest child, the thorn in my culinary side, ate her plateful with relatively little protest. Once she had mashed up all the tomatoes.

It's the little victories that matter.

Cook the Book: Gelato de Crema

I have exactly the same question (and kitchenaid mixer attachment) as Burger365 and anxiously await the answer to this question. If we stir it less, how much less? And how do you know when it's done? A quarter increase in volume? Half? Double? Inquiring minds want to know!

Cook the Book: 'Farm to Fork'

Oh! Just this weekend, my husband pulled some test carrots from our very first vegetable garden. They were short and fat, less orange than the carrots I'm used to, and oh so very sweet and carroty. They were delicious in my improptu stir fry.

Cook the Book: 'Edible: A Celebration of Local Foods'

There is no edible Wichita, or edible Kansas for that matter, but we have wonderful local producers that would definately deserve to be featured. Cox Farm and Beck's Farm are two that spring to mind.

Cook the Book: 'Jamie's Food Revolution'

Definately pasta. You can't beat it for quick, easy and delicious. I do a pork paprikash with egg noodles, a pasta carbonara, a quick chicken alfredo or a greek orzo for those nights when I need dinner done fast.
