PS, if that link doesn't work properly, you can also go to http://www.freethegrapes.com and scroll down to "Hot Topics." The first link under that section ("Defeat HR5034") takes you to the page with the letter forms.
Wow, I think we've hit a nerve with this issue!
@simon, and anyone else who wishes to voice concerns about HR 5034 - here's where to go: http://www.capwiz.com/freegrapes/issues/alert/?alertid=14948676.
Scroll to the bottom of the page - they've made it easy to send a letter to the House or the Senate. You can also edit the text if you don't quite agree with everything outlined there.
Thanks for all the comments! I am noting all the great "critter wine" recommendations, and a smackdown is definitely in order.
@Simon - thanks especially for the insight into how Hello Kitty is perceived in Japan ("not creepy"). That's helpful to know. Although I still say the marketing geniuses bringing Hello Kitty wine to the U.S. should be prepared for how our culture might receive such a product ("creepy").
Thanks for the kind words! I'm getting hungry reading these responses. I could go for some tiramisu right about now...
D, I was pleasantly surprised by the range of good suggestions in this article - I think both out-of-towners and locals will enjoy many of these spots: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/travel/ten-spots-to-tip-your-glass-in-nyc/article1498653/
Here's another one to add to the list: ONEHOPE Wine, benefiting breast cancer research: http://www.onehopewine.com/
Hi everyone, thanks for all the great suggestions! Agreed with @dbisping, there are so many white wines out there worth exploring - I barely scratched the surface in this list. and I'm looking forward to trying some of the varietals/bottles you've mentioned.
@plazmaorb, @Simon - good call on Viognier! one of my favorites.
