Newman's Own Light Balsamic - you can't go wrong.

It's not exactly "store" bought but I came across Wistoria Garden's Very Nearly Famous House Vinaigrette at the farmer's market that the Eastern Market, in Washington, D.C. quite some time ago. To date I have gone ordered FOUR of their 12-bottle boxes. It's amazing and I love turning people on to it!

I usually don't use store bought dressing, but when I do it's Newmans Own Light Italian with Lemon. It is very good.

Gosh, I am amazed no one cited "Ranch" dressing as a favourite - here in Canada, it is probably the most popular by far. Next time I am in the U.S., I will buy some, "Maries blue cheese" - several people have mentioned it and I love blue cheese dressing, but I make my own (not always convenient) because I can't find a good one. I don't think Maries is sold here.

My husband also uses Marzetti's slaw dressing on sandwiches and in tuna salad, potato salad, and pea & peanut salad, in place of mayo.

I also use only Kraft Free Zesty Italian in pasta salad because it doesn't get slimy or soggy. If anything, if I keep the salad more than a couple days I need to add more dressing because it dries out.

Toasted English muffin, scrambled egg in the microwave, a little cheese.
Yogurt with granola and dried fruit.
Oatmeal. *wry smile* I keep frozen fruit and lots of spices on hand, so that helps.
A Carnation Instant Breakfast, peanut butter, banana, and milk smoothie.
Cottage cheese with a banana and toast.
Hard-boiled egg and toast.
Frozen waffles/pancakes with peanut butter and honey.
Cheese toast with a side of fruit.
Scrambled egg and cheese wraps (with or without breakfast meat - precooking breakfast meats help!)

I've been experimenting with breakfast egg muffins - sort of like breakfast casserole, but made in a muffin tin and frozen and reheated. I'm not quite happy with it yet, but I think I'm close!

Smoothie -

1 banana
1/2c cottage cheese
1/2c yogurt
2-3tbsp water or milk
1/4-1/2c berries (frozen works great!)
1tsp honey
1 tsp ground flax

Blend, toss in a travel mug, and enjoy :-)

My boyfriend drives me INSANE when he eats! He holds his silverware like a freakin shovel! I'm dying to say something to him about it, but don't want to his feelings. It's actually embarrising whe we go out to a nice resturant, all dressed up and here comes the shoveling...agggghhhh

Grandma's Tea Cake Cookies if not in the baking mood. These are the best.

These tea cake cookies are made by a company out of Houston, Texas.

I've tried making them like my grandmother did but no luck. These people hit the spot if not better. Sorry grandmother. I received them within two days from order and they were delicious. I ordered a dozen for my family of four and they were gone before going to bed. These cookies are larger and tastier than the average cookie.

Not overly common, but I can't stand pinenuts. With you on the capers, yuck. And all you celery haters? I love it enough for all of you:)

There are many Mayos made with lemon instead of vinegar, and there are vegan Mayos made without egg (which aren't bad considering how little egg there really is in most commercial mayo).

Ever tried them?

this won't add much, but i agree that green bell peppers should be banned from any recipe, although i don't mind them raw on a crudite plate.

I use dillpickles, onoins, eggs, with a dressing made of mayo, yellow mustard, & sweetpickle juice(off bread &butter pickles). My husband swears he never liked potato salad until he ate mine, but he made me swear I wouldn't tell his Mom.
