Cook the Book: Easy Gluten-Free Baking

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease a little less than a year ago, after 18 months of not knowing why I was losing weight so fast (now a total of 90 pounds). I'm learning how to eat safe but it's still not easy.

Recently I've been discussing the things I miss the most about my new gluten free diet. Pizza, cakes, cookies are obvious things I miss, but I've decided what I miss the most is bread, particularly things like kaiser rolls, a good loaf of French bread or even a humble hamburger bun.

State Fair Food-Chocolate Covered Bacon!

though he may. not be the first ever, Michael Symon came up with this on his first episode of Dinner Impossible:

and the "recipe," such as it is, is here:

This only aired in the last few weeks. If it was the first time these folks heard of this food isn't it amazing how quickly they put together a business to sell it!

I would recommend Aliotos as well as endorsing the recommendation of Scomas. If I had to choose only one I'd go to Aliotos, but that's mostly because we knew a family member who lived in our NY suburb way back when. Alioto's is about the oldest restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf.

Blogwatch: Eggs Cooked in Muffin Tins

The Egg McMuffin is cooked on the griddle in a metal ring, not baked. You can create a functional home version of the ring by cutting out the top and bottom of a tuna fish can.

I've seen some interesting looking stuff using coffee mugs, both in the oven and in the microwave.

Rachel Ray did "green eggs and ham" this way. The "green" is spinach and the "ham" is prosciuto, which forms the up in the bottom of the muffin tin:

Belgian's, including my wife's stepmother and step bother, consider In Bev to be the destroyer of good beers.

It's not a step up for Bud.
