From Behind the Bar: In the Weeds

I once unplugged the blender and handed it to a clueless member of our waitstaff. She requested a frozen margarita, extra salt, while "off duty" at the bar. (The place was 3 deep with a huge party that had just walked in and the phone was ringing off the hook with to go orders and requests for the evening's specials).

AHT Giveaway: Case of Pat LaFrieda Burgers

I was 11 or 12 years old helping dad grill up the food for a softball cook-out after a game.

I told him that I really didn't see why people would want hot dogs when there are hamburgers. I think he teared up a bit.

Truly, a bonding moment between father and son.

Is anyone else against uncalled for abbreviations when ordering?

Is saving three more syllables going to make you less hungry?

"We would like to order some 'aps'", or "I'll have the chicken 'parm'"....

It makes me cringe. What's your take? Am I just being old fashioned? (Or shall I say "O-fash")?

(BLT is the only acceptable abbreviation in my book when ordering).

What say you?
