Serious Eater Low Iodine Recipes
I just wanted to second everything that's been said so far. I went through this a year ago and the thyca cookbook really helped along with having great family members to help me when I didn't feel like cooking. Best wishes to you and your mother... Hometown Favorites: The Emotional Side of Chocolate
Oaks Candy in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Every time we visit family we make a special stop at Oaks and stock up on Meltaways, Melty Bars, and some awesome cream filled peanut covered things. I have great memories of that store and love the chocolates.

When I was maybe 6 years old, I remember helping my mom make an apple pie for a family BBQ. I was so proud to be able to say that I helped make it. It's one of my favorite cooking memories with my mom and definitely one of my most memorable pies.

I went to a restaurant called Famous Daves here in Minnesota. They have good bbq and you can buy their sauces in the supermarket, which I do all the time.
